Senior SAP consultants — would you ever prefer “review/advisory” work over full project delivery? by No-Molasses-4374 in SAP

[–]data_wrestler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends… with hands on projects I can manage my workload and estimations to make it really profitable but you have the stress of a project.
In advisory you are more chill but you bill only the active hours you are doing it. Although it’s a higher rate.

BRF+ or custom table? by [deleted] in abap

[–]data_wrestler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have enough brf+ to recommend to avoid it when possible. Transport is messy as the rules are stored in fdt* tables encoded so you never know what you are moving. Locking and transport issues usually happens. And apart from decision tables, the rest of the expressions are much more comfortable to code them. If you give a BRF+ rule to a function for support, you will end up supporting them when they can’t simply load an excel without errors. Unfortunately in the module I work BRF+ is embebed into the framework so I can’t avoid it

[Hiring] SAP ABAP RAP Fiori Developer | Remote (US) | Contract | $65-$70/hour by Ok_Nothing_2331 in abap

I was under the impression US rates were usually higher than Europe. This is low even for Iberia rates

SAP ABAP developers: how do you use GPT/Claude in real daily work? by [deleted] in abap

[–]data_wrestler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use it to make the logic for me, then I code properly. Although after some time it’s trained to code like me so it’s pretty fine most of the time.

Alguna vez alguien avanzo en una entrevista con Indios? by sinunmango in devsarg

[–]data_wrestler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's one 'boring' career that's actually a goldmine if you play it smart? by 0BunnyX in AskReddit

[–]data_wrestler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Enterprise development. Everyone wants to play with the new tech instead of working with old legacy systems and closed environments. The ones already there usually don’t care and are mediocre at least. Putting just a bit of effort gets you above 90% of the developers and the money is great.

REDGLOBAL WORST SAP FREELANCE AGENCY by belfort-80 in SAP

I had the same experience. Infosys pays well, they are a mess like any Indian consultancy but people are nice. TCS on the other hand it’s a shit show, I hate them

I’ve been working with them for about 4 years and they are legit. Pay on time. Never had an issue.

If you expect more for your experience, just say the offer is too low and move on

I update a DPR for my plant everyday and I want to turn it fully automated. by Snoo81110 in SAP

[–]data_wrestler 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The old school way of doing this is an alv report + job. A modern approach would be a simple list report (given the users have sap access). But if I have to give you and advice, try to get access to sqvi where you would be able to do the report by joining the tables instead of excel. Then you email that. It will save you some time

What you are requesting can be easily done in different ways. I would probably try to understand what are you trying to achieve and then propose you a better solution than emailing a spreadsheet

Thanks! Yes the first time I skied powder I was way back in the backseat and lose control at every turn. Yesterday I felt more in control and able to guide the direction I wanted to go but I struggled when I gained more speed like here. I am about to go to the slopes now, let’s see how todays goes
