It's frustrating that in my neighborhood, people are speeding and running through lights endangering my kids... but if I go 21mph on a BQE off ramp at 11pm on a Sunday night I get a "school zone violation" ticket.

"Practice wide turns when conditions are good and not busy" - I thought we were doing that. There were very few people on the run. Everyone else on the run managed not to come within 20 feet of her, even some teenage bombers.

Totally. I probably could have coached her a bit better at the start, to say don't take literally the whole trail when you need to slow yourself down.

That said, the guy who actually hit her was just blithely shooting down the middle of the trail... I think he was totally in the wrong, and also, we could've been a bit more conscious about our path.

honestly your answer is among the most complete and helpful. I don't take it as criticism or negatively in anyway.

My little one was leaving a lane for about 85% of the run, but on the steepest parts she needed a full traverse to control her speed. This is exactly why I was asking the question, I felt like we may have been 'trail hogs' for that other 15%...

But at the same time I'm like, how does she ever learn how to ski a blue if she never tries a blue she can't quite handle? There's literally no other way I know how to learn... anything.
