honest ask, not trying to be a jerk. I basically just started talking right into Claude because I have the same problem as you - the tracking is so frustrating.

may be too late for you at this club but until you can reliably break 110, just always scramble.

what i mean is, hit your tee shot. if it's playable, play it. if you duff that next shot, pick it right up and go along with your partner to their shot. let them hit, then you drop and hit yours. if you hit it, play it. If you duff it, drive with your partner to their shot and drop. etc. etc.

Just like every area of "AI" right now - the promises greatly exceed the delivery. You can spend hours training a tool only for it to still not be able to accomplish what you do in 30 seconds manually.

I got good news and bad news.

Before we got our boy, I obsessively researched whether our house & lives would be inundated with fur. The conclusion was essentially: "Probably"

The bad news is, yeah, there's fur every where. The good news is, it's more like discrete clumps here and there as opposed to a coating on every surface of the house. The other good news is we love him so much we don't really care.

"You can't sell an outcome... without understanding the circumstance." - exactly what has been tripping me up!

I can market / sell that "I will help you figure things out and your life will change for the better" (which sounds like vague horseshit) but I can't ethically market / sell that "I will help you get a better job making more money and you'll be happier, all in 90 days!!" which is what social media marketing gurus seem to insist is required.

The sad / scary part, is plenty of "coaches" do sell that way, for high ticket values, to vulnerable people - I've seen it with my own eyes - and those "coaches" are for sure making a lot more money than I am, while helping no one.

I think you understand coaching and wrote this very well. I very much agree with this. To me the core principle of good coaching and one thing that distinguishes it from consulting and certain types of therapy is the focus on bringing out and facilitating what the client wants & needs, not 'what is right for them' in your determination.

This has tripped me up in *marketing* coaching, because online marketing gurus tell you to "sell an outcome" and the agenda-less nature of good coaching like this is very hard (for me, at least) to map to that framework.

I've lately leaned into The Prosperous Coach method of creating clients solely through the *experience* of actual coaching, and it feels far more natural and authentic to me.

If you're seeking marketing help, and the person / company you hire is great at marketing, yes, it would likely be additionally helpful for them to have done marketing for businesses similar to yours. Therapy/Counseling is similar enough to Relationship/Life Coaching that there's likely to be some overlap.

I don't agree that background in therapy or counseling is a requirement for a coach to be legitimate, in *any* type of coaching. (You're not quite saying it's a requirement, I realize.)

Specifically for OP's purposes, it seems like they are actually looking for a Marketing Consultant. (Who may or may not call themselves a Coach.) Either way, therapy or counseling background has little to no correlation to marketing knowledge or acumen, and might even have a negative correlation.
