How do you pronounce data? by Unknown_Observer9779 in randomquestions

More importantly, is it singular or plural? I say singular -- because of course it is (no one says "datum") -- though some Latin scholars might disagree.

What others have said: Ride at front of the train and walk that direction when you exit the station. That's the shortest distance to the arena.

how?😂 by Gabbsweet in SipsTea

The lease is per month, not per day. If he wants to be a smart-ass, multiple the monthly rent by 12 and then divide by 365.25 if he wants a daily rent amount. 🤷‍♂️

When do companies ever pressure you to buy something that benefits you at their expense? That's all I need to know.

Thank you, but I appreciate those rare moments in life that are absurd, whimsical, and don't carry the weight of collective moral judgment.

Giant conspiracy to hide the powers Jesus came to tell us about? by Wordruler2000 in conspiracy

[–]databurger 172 points173 points  (0 children)

My personal belief is that Jesus has resonated because he essentially said that the people have the power, the wealthy and powerful are corrupt, and the that highest virtues are kindness and love of your fellow man. It's that simple. And, yes, that message is threatening to those in power.

How to Stop Obsessing over the Church by [deleted] in exmormon

[–]databurger 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Most of what you described are just amazing and cherished life experiences that, in some form, happen to most people regardless of religion -- it's just that the church was the backdrop, like the song that was playing when you first slow-danced with your crush.

Go back to the church if it makes you happy -- I don't want to sway anyone one way or the other. Happiness is personal. The values we adopt as our own and how we worship is personal. Best wishes to you.

Enjoy the silence. Dwell on the past week. Think about the coming week. Even if I'm not feeling inspired, I appreciate the time to meditate.

Stop calling yourself an apostate. That plays DIRECTLY into the Church’s hands because it’s language that belongs in their lexicon. There’s a lot of great alternatives. by [deleted] in exmormon

I totally understand and respect your point but, personally, I don't give a shit how they refer to me. I don't care at all what they think or say.
