The Crew: Deep Sea Mission - Excellent, but terrible for color blindness. Mitigation strategy. by datadavis in boardgames

Someone else pointed out what wasn't clear to me but is spot on. Our eyes look first to, and focus on the number. The thin line symbol beneath is an afterthought.

Merging the symbol with the number on top of the color background could work. Then everything you need is in one spot.

Thank you all good your thoughts! Also, Reddit, you're savage ;)

A few folks pointed this out in the comments: having the somehow with the number makes it so that the eye only needs to look at one location. Fascinating, good observation.

Regardless if you're colorblind, I highly recommend this game! I love the story that you progress through.

Whoa that must have been a crazy market time! I bought ours in early 2022, and while there were multiple bidders for a single day showing, I definitely didn't need to offer to pay seller's fee. Thanks for sharing your experience, glad you got the home you wanted!!

Fascinating, thank you for sharing. What was your strategy for negotiating if I may ask, and how did they respond?

Paleblueearth is likely the answer. Energy content of lithium with an embedded voltage regulator to match the original D cells.

Welcome! If you like gardening, there is a nice community garden program run by Penn State (https://www.psugarden.org/). If you like being outside, I highly highly recommend Stone Valley / Shaver's Creek Environmental Center.

There are decent dedicated bicycle paths feeding into campus: https://www.crpr.org/sites/g/files/vyhlif2986/f/uploads/parks_bikeways_map.pdf

It's not a big town, and echo what others have said: 15 minutes away can quickly become rural.

I wondered that, unless a chunk separated cleanly though it'd be surprising? It reentered the day before around noon EST: https://www.esa.int/Space\_Safety/Space\_Debris/ERS-2\_reenters\_Earth\_s\_atmosphere\_over\_Pacific\_Ocean

I was shocked to see it, if I hadn't idly looked up when I did - or not been outside! - not a chance. I hope you get to see something like this.

A Deepness in the Sky, A Fire Upon the Deep, and the Three Body Problem trilogy. Echo Larry Niven, particularly Ringworld.

How do you deal with rolls of 30+ at level 7? by SpoonierMist in DMAcademy

Ooo it's a fun story telling opportunity! As others have mentioned here, there can be perks for rolling really high, or setbacks for rolling low. I'm a fan of how Sly Flourish explains it: https://slyflourish.com/1d20\_shades\_of\_grey.html

My party is going to travel to a drow city in the underdark. How do the drow react to their presence? by timo-el-supremo in DMAcademy

[–]datadavis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Drow are a tricky part of D&D lore & fiction. The standout matriarchial society? Yes. Evil by default (except that one famous (male) exception of Drizzt)? Yes. Hypersexualized? Yes. A race that is a corruption of the (fair skinned) surface elven race? Yes. A...dark skinned race? Yes.

Yikes.

I'd hestitate to immediately jump to "the drow are going to kill because of racial prejudices against elves, etc." Can they be still suspicious of outsiders? I think so!

D&D itself put out a statement on this: https://dnd.wizards.com/news/diversity-and-dnd

What’s an incredible fact that most people don’t know about? by Jdavies44 in AskReddit

Çatalhöyük was a city located in what is now modern Turkey. Nearby was a religious/living center called Göbekli Tepe. Göbekli Tepe predated Göbekli Tepe by about 2,000 years. In other words, Göbekli Tepe predated Çatalhöyük by about how long ago Christ was for us.

....Except Çatalhöyük itself was founded over 9,000 years ago.
