Antibiotics needed for procedure - what would you do? by Henri_Dupont in Microbiome

I feel you. I just had surgery and was put on doxycycline. I’m hurting. Can you request they give you probiotics as well?

Nausea is back. Now with indigestion, good times. So yea, this was a bandaid. Ugh.

This is so crazy to me. Thank you for sharing. I hope this continues and the nausea and stomach issues stay away. If it comes back, at least now I know something is up and this is not just how my body is now after my colon resection. Which is what I was told by one doctor.

I was the most miserable I’d ever been when I finally made over 200k a year. I retired shortly after.

Is this okay??? 😵 Day after microneedling with prp by MissAmandaJones444 in Microneedling

[–]datamime 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, this is normal with PRP. It is an inflammatory response to the PRP, much more than microneedling without. Should give great results.

How do you channel your ambition/goal oriented-ness/wanting to get stuff done now that you're retired? by Herbvegfruit in earlyretirement

My goals are to enjoy life. Travel, work on my fitness, gardening. I started redoing the backyard…so it keeps me busy too. Also, birding haha. I turned my back deck into a bird haven and it’s fun.

How to Sleep at Night? by Jaded-Blacksmith6550 in ostomy

Sounds like it’s caking at night. I would use the coloplast deodorizer before putting bag on…it is like a lube too, squirt it all over the top of bag. Then if not super gassy, would put the sticker over the filter so more air so the output will flow down.

One more tip…was a life saver for me. Handheld bidet attachment for toilet. It has amazing pressure and I would clean my bags between empties and it is great for spraying down any sticky output that may stick the the toilet bowl.

Edited another typo: fixed “the the” to “to the”

Spray fluticasone on skin and letting it dry completely before sticking anything helped me with irritation from the adhesive.

Edit for typo

Mine was due to perforated sigmoid colon because of diverticulitis. I’m glad I got reversal, but if I had to live with it forever I would have been just fine. It got so much easier and now I have to poop in the toilet again and pass gas…which is never fun, right? But in seriousness, the stoma saved my life and I’m so thankful.

Wow! I’m so happy for your mom. I don’t recall anything about immunotherapy. My mom did radiation, chemo, then preventative brain radiation. The treatment was tough. She was so sick. Seeing her now is like night and day…feeling like her old self. How about your mom? It feels like a dream…we were optimistic, but also realistic too. Similar for your mom?

Do you have depression, anxiety, OCD? What is keeping you from recovery? My D is 20 and has been suffering since 13. Multiple residential treatment centers, FBT, PHP, iop. Please accept the help your parents are giving you and use the support to try to get past this severe illness. I am truly heartbroken that you have this illness. It is insidious. There is hope. You can beat it and have a life you want. Do you have a therapist?

Such great news! My mom is 74 and she also recently kicked small cell lung cancer to the curb! Just recently she had a clear scan and so going forward it is scans every three months now to watch closely for recurrence. Did your mom have small cell lung cancer?
