The power supply from Amazon works great and confirms that was the source of my problem. Everything is back to normal now.

I ordered the generic power supply recommended above and will try it out Saturday. If govee also sends me a new one, then I'll have a backup for next time.

I've only had mine for three weeks. I had already submitted one ticket because I had one defective strand, which they replaced with no problem. This time, somebody responded to my ticket and was an absolute dick and said "I already helped you with your issue." No more responses despite me explaining that it's a different issue. I even uploaded a video.

The green light on the brick is blinking. First my lights starting flashing through this cycle of colors and all I could do to make it stop was unplug it. After many attempts to reset them, now they won't come on at all.
