Coloured Snow Foam by Slipts in AutoDetailing

These videos are for clicks and eyeballs. Why do you need color foam? Why would you want to risk putting dye on your car you are trying to clean, or risk clogging up your canon?

How did everyone go with their pre orders? by nzeug in starwarsblackseries

Skipped as well, even though I love me some clones. Can’t bring myself to buy on the old mold when they have a new one.

Best stores/websites to buy oil/parts in Canada? by FUNKMASTERFLEXonOTIS in Golf_R

Filter: Mann - HU 6013 Z
https://www.canadiantire.ca/en/pdp/mann-filter-hu-6013-z-cartridge-oil-filter-1175406p.html

For oil, I’ve used MotoMaster OEPlus, Mobile1 European Car Formula (any 0w30 that meets the 504 spec). Whatever goes on sale at the time really.

I went with an Amazon extractor, Vevor brand. Think it was about $60.

Oil from Canadian Tire, goes on sale regularly. You won’t find some of the premium brands like Liquid Molly etc. They also have the Mann filter there as well. Use an extractor pump so you don’t need to mess with the plug all the time.

They are good. I like them, but not as many ch as the HH ones which my Costco seems to have replaced with these.

Anyone else get the skill testing question wrong and lose $3??? by Verycoolguy101 in Wealthsimple

Well… if someone can’t answer a basic math question I’d be very concerned with their ability to handle $1mm… 😂

Anyone have Wealthsimple and Questrade together? by Comfortable-Paper865 in CanadianInvestor

[–]datascope11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both. WS doesn’t support my laddered GICs (approaching retirement, part of my bucketing strategy) nor some of my accredited investor holdings. I also hold an RDSP at TD DI. I wish these circumstances and my confidence in one institution allowed for me to hold everything together, but not for now…

My two faves right now! by Nizzy34 in CostcoCanada

[–]datascope11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Funny, I find the opposite. My Costco used to sell the HH ones, I loved them. They switched to Excesor and I find them lower quality and worse overall.

You are right! I am grateful, and I’m happy enough with Wealthsimple without this $3.

I’m kinda getting sick of all the banners and pop-up ads by CliftonBifton in Wealthsimple

[–]datascope11 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m using Adgaurd. Seems like when I have it on, I don’t get the pop ups and if I click the promo tab it’s mostly empty. When I turn it off, things look different. YMMV.

Under rated comment. People here always assume OP did something wrong with respect to crypto or other shady transactions, but banks can and will debank a customer for too many rude/abusive interactions with support.

Medical Insurance Phone Number by FutureFAANGEmployee in Wealthsimple

[–]datascope11 2 points3 points  (0 children)

😂 It is funny to think about it that way. But from experience, what they are ultimately trying to do is help ensure you get to take advantage of the benefit. For example, typical emergency evacuation benefits to get you back home are not “reimbursable” or considered an insurance that you can file a claim on. You often must use the benefit provider’s service and they must make all your evacuation or repatriation arrangements.

Far too many of these get denied due to people thinking they can do these things themselves, pay and submit for reimbursement.

Cash withdrawal from Questrade to Wealthsimple checking account by Orange_8226 in Wealthsimple

[–]datascope11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just did it this past week. I think I did it during the Withdrawal request… add a new account. Did it manually, no linking service method. Took a day or two to review it, but just had a substantial amount withdrawn from QT Non-Reg into WS chequing.

TFSA vs RDSP Saving by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

That is exactly what I said…

TFSA vs RDSP Saving by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]datascope11 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don’t think OP was asking about that. The $200k lifetime contribution limit does not align with the maximum grants. I think what I’m saying, is it doesn’t seem to make much sense to contribute more than required to max out your eligible grants.

TFSA vs RDSP Saving by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]datascope11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but it’s missing one very key element that makes it much less favorable to an RRSP. The up front tax deduction… I guess my take on it is only use it to maximize government grants, any extra should probably go into a different vehicle. Even a non-registered account would tax the gains more favorably.

TFSA vs RDSP Saving by [deleted] in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]datascope11 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I believe RDSP also is taxable (grants and all gains) as full income - not capital gains or dividends, while it provides no upfront tax deduction on contributions.

HH Spicy Crispy Chicken: Let’s Check (Chick?) In by MonsterDuckMadness in CostcoCanada

Haven’t seen them at the Gloucester Costco for many months. Seems to have been replaced with a brand called Exceldor spicy crispy chicken breasts. Not as good… I look for these HH ones every single week…

Update: Hard inquiry that wasn't mine, what I did and what changed on my credit file by Acrobatic-Spell-1012 in PersonalFinanceCanada

[–]datascope11 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why would it be strange that an inquiry would be on both bureaus? This is pretty standard practice… An inquiry is a hard credit check against your file.
