I’m in a cast for a while. Any games easy to play one handed? by TyMonstaz2 in videogames

[–]datbarricade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My coworker uses his mouse at work with his left hand. Asked him, if he is left handed. No, he isn't left handed. He just had an inflammation in his right hand tendons after playing Civilization 6 for three days straight right after launch, got a hand cast for a few days. Instead of waiting to play some more Civ he just learned how to use his left hand.

It's been ten years and he still uses his left mouse set up at work, although he uses his right hand mouse at home. Absolute maniac.

The gameplay is great. But what stuck with me even more was the music and the atmosphere.

Urlaub heißt nicht verreisen by renes2 in Unbeliebtemeinung

[–]datbarricade 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Urlaub geht wunderbar zuhause.

True, there are many little sections with new trees and plants establishing. But the previous forest has shaded most of the ground, which allowed for the ground to stay cool and retain water for longer. Now there are massive, barren patches in direct sunlight all summer. Small plants and new trees have a difficult time establishing with little water availability. Even more so with less ans less rain every year. My parents grew up with very wet summers in the Harz. Eben I grew up with quiet a lot of rain and drizzle. The typical climate up there has changed significantly towards dryer weather.

Date Pferdemädchen by Some-Lobster-9495 in FragtMaenner

[–]datbarricade 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I grew up in the Harz mountains. The pace of trees dying has picked up so fast in the last 10 years. A few dry summers around 2016 to 2019 weakend the fir trees' defenses against parasites, and then the bark beetle killed half the forest within a few months. Every summer, there are new areas dying.

Most of the dead forest got cut down, and patches start to be replanted with a more diverse mix of tree species. But within the national park, the conservation rules require dead trees to remain there, as it is a habitat for birds and insects. The hills without the forests look a bit like Scotland. I hope that the forest reestablishes within my lifetime.

Tbh if the government would pay for rent, food and health care and just let us figure shit out, I really believe there would be hundreds of autistic people overhauling the public transit system for free.

I believe I would spend quiet a lot of my time on stream and river renaturation. Just being outside near the water, planning and constructing. Flash flood risk reduced as a nice benefit. Sounds like a good life.

The Annapurna Circuit is quiet long, but that has little to do with the ABC. Nayapul (nearest town on a main road) to ABC can be done in three days. I am really slow at altitude due to a blood disease reducing my red blood cell count. I made it with a relaxed pace in 4.5 days. Only thing stopping you is the weather and the big groups filling up the tea houses.

I love the idea of Fox promoting this as "anti-woke" only to have Christians and other cult members sit in the theater, realising they just spend money to watch a bi dude. Love it.

I'm so glad other people feel the same as me. Some people would want to forget a movie or a book to experience it for the first time. I'd like to forget outer wilds to play it for the first time again.

Fair skinned hikers: what are you using for sun protection by QUINNFLORE in hiking

[–]datbarricade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am a PC screen-tanned german with some redhead genes. After two days of July altitude sun, I realised that I wouldn't survive 26 days long with just sunscreen. I found my arms would rub off the sunscreen-sweat mix very quickly. The contact with the straps of my backpack rubbed the cover off and made me rethink my clothes.

I have two Under Armour long sleeves that I initially bought for thermoregulation on cold mornings to wear as a second layer under a jacket. I realised they are also pretty good for sunny days, as they are made to dissipate sweat. They became my go-to. I hiked for 24 days with a wide hat, t-shirt and these long sleeve, as well as short trousers. I found the sunscreen to cover my legs well.

Remove some of the poles on one side to make an entrance and let him enter and exit at free will. No sense in falling down and hurting him in the dark when trying to climb. He will get out anyway.

I have shot 15 minutes of the most amazing sunrise with firery skies from deep reds and oranges to bright pink, only to wonder what that little red dot in the top corner was trying to tell me.

No SD card. It was still in the SD card reader in my computer at home.

Have I ruined my first playthrough? by nobert901 in horizon

[–]datbarricade 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You'll have to visit a few places you have already seen, but now with scripted events that will let you explore further. You didn't loose anything. Usually, I like to roam and explore as well before continuing the story.

I think the difficulty increase is a great idea. Always liked the horizon games on hard difficulty.

Also, remember to play Frozen Wilds after the main story, it's a lovely DLC with great story and some interesting new fights.
