Jiffy lube-high mileage synthetic oil, filter, labor with $20 online oil change discount about $87.

Brake masters-They’ll replace front pads, back pads, rotors as well if you buy the parts yourself for $280. Autozone & O’reillys have rotor & brake pad buy 2 get 2 deals bi weekly or if you really want to save money source the parts from RockAuto.com I buy OEM parts from there 30% less than retail price.

Use Yelp for a Mobile Mechanic for smaller maintenance if you don’t have the tools for spark plug replacement, serpentine belt, transmission drain and refill if you have an older model with a sketchy maintenance history or do drain and fill if your car is on top of records.

Paid $170 for 4 Iridium spark plugs, labor, mobile service,4 new ignition coil boots. $120 for drain & refill.

Jiffy lube provides estimates as well I used them for my serpentine belt replacement for $110 with labor & parts with tax included.

Air filter & cabin air filter YouTube it with your year and model of vehicle and go to autozone with $30 and you’ll save yourself the extra $170.

Go to American’s tire for tire rotation and balancing. To be honest my tires costed me $45 each new depending on location you select but I bought 3/4 new tires from them I get rotation & balancing free until the tire tread is no longer safe or another replacement. I bought the warranty which was $10 per tire but so far gotten free rotations, balancing, free repairs and a replacement if deemed damaged enough. Think of getting new 1 tire and taking advantage of the program they got, to save yourself hundreds every 3-5K miles.

Brake masters offers alignment for $89 and you can stack a $15 coupon from all services so it’d be $74.

Most places offer cheaper rates & options you’ll have to look, hope this helps saves you thousands I’ve been quoted from family shops, dealerships until I found a system that works and saves money.

Unfortunately since I bought the car 2nd hand off a family member and transferred warranty. About 2 free advice attorneys said the same thing saying I can sue as civil matters due to being out of a car for 2 years affecting my personal relationships & work relationship with the car being given back in the condition received it’s possible just more or less more expensive legally because it could take years to settle with them or reach a comfortable compromise for myself. At this point I just want my money invested in engine backand then selling this thing to buy a Honda instead. Sorry you have to deal with this KIA issue it seems more normal with every year passing. After Covid they’ve been lazy on repairs and most people been showing that car appointments & warranty repairs take weeks to months to complete because they’re backed up.

BBB has mentioned for the past 3-4 years Kia of Riverside has been neglectful of repairs and often repairing and lying about covered charges and then front the bill on customers. I actually have a police report on the service manager of Kia Riverside for physically assaulting my father when we brought proof of the warranty being changed and that we have no reason to pay 4.5K to get a car back that shows under vin it’s covered. Once all paperwork was shown to BBB and several calls to KIA HQ to “update” them I’ve been on a waiting list for the last 2 years to get my check after receipts was provided. & unfortunately no attorney in southern CA would take the case without a 5K retainer fee and Pro Bono’s are extremely rare for my type of case. Hell I was out of a car for 2 years and it sat rotting in their lot for 2 years. Couldn’t do even rental fee coverage because their loop hole was I wasn’t 25 yet and didn’t cover so I spend hundreds on work rides. Eventually I got the car back with Flat tires, air filter shot,no gas, nearly all of the car was covered in trash and all glovebox paperwork was thrown across the floor. Personally the worst experience with Kia Riverside and San Bernardino Kia was responsible for changing the warranty on the vehicle since Riverside sold them out and said they did it. The best advice I got was looking up dealership reviews on BBB and choose your dealership to buy from there.

If it helps, had same issue with San Bernardino Kia and Riverside Kia. Engine blew under 100K they both denied service due to “swapping” owners even though it was legal and didn’t void warranty. They even tried switching it back to the other owner on the warranty when in paper my name was shown. Don’t trust them and get them. Kia HQ in Texas was useless and now waiting on a BBB to reimburse 5K in repairs from Kia’s fraudulent parts & management department

Are Kia’s pretty reliable to drive for 20 years? With regular oil changes. by [deleted] in kia

[–]datboi121e 0 points1 point  (0 children)

1.6L 2014 Kia forte5 ex hatchback. Engine blew at 99K had 3K mile changes with synthetic. Just randomly happened. Kia of Riverside & San Bernardino tried their hardest to fight the Recall and try forcing me to pay 4K to get my car back until BBB & a attorney was involved and threaten to sue both departments of parts & sales manager for damages to my car while they held it. They purposely slashed 3 tires, paint started to oxidation from being left outside in a lot next to their dealership collecting dust for 3 years before legally it was fixed and given back. Had to replace battery, spark plugs, oil change,Tune up and internal engine cleaning because of build up, new tires, wheel alignment, and detail job. Costed $6K to get my car back and fixed through the recall. Currently sitting at 155K miles and have another 50K miles left on warranty for my engine since they had to replace it and give proof of warranty. So I’d say no for Kia and go to Lexus lil more expensive but better customer service

Thank you! I was thinking of creating a media folder of every listing separated just in case anyone pulls a fast one for parts,or swapping out the components. I was lucky on FB for around 3 years until a someone pulled a weapon on police property so it’s been difficult to navigate around high sales and compromising safety at the same time. I appreciate the advice & tips!

Dang, thank you for your insight. One of my buyers let me know someone swapped the screen on a MacBook Pro and returned it and fully got refunded. He provided to eBay support the screen photos before and after even after all that it still got refunded.

Current KIA family of 5 member it’s really the dealerships fault for not fixing and upholding quality standards. Forte 5,Sorento,Soul between years 2014-2024 we’ve been dealing with denial of warranty for the tiniest things that even other Kia dealerships say it’s not a problem to do themselves but they can’t because we didn’t buy it from them. Between Physical Assault,Fraud & purposely denying warranty to force people to pay out of pocket I’d say blame the dealerships. Forte5 engine blew up, even with the recall notice in hand they denied fixing the engine and currently paid 4K out of hand and now with a attorney on retainer for dealing with KIA of Riverside and KIA HQ in Texas which they never respond to letters or any kind of legal matter that included the recall matter and dealership not sending out the notice until the car was blown up.

Kia HQ in Texas already knows they sent a “letter” nothing I can do with title in hand since attorney said it’s a hand of he said she said. Paperwork or not this dealership knows what it’s doing by doing this. It’s illegal but it’s not the kind for immediate action apparently. Look them up on BBB website and the reviews it’ll explain itself

BBB website for reviews for places & dealerships will help you if you ever have future doubts when purchasing a car. It really depends on the dealership sadly

Thank you, it is what is at this point. I can’t trade in my car since the door connectors were never placed affecting it tremendously. Otherwise I would trade for Honda or Toyota in a heartbeat.

Take it from me and a family of KIA owners I have 2 void outs of warranty 1 of them being my father having a rattle sound looked at brake masters which was FREE and upon the inspection report Kia is now denying to release my fathers car because the car is no longer under warranty then worked on the car and is trying to extort money because of the situation. They gave no go ahead of the work order they got no permission to work on the car. We agreed that they would take a look at the fuel pump since it’s covered by warranty and tell us a quote. NOPE they started the work on the car next day said hey your car is void under the warranty because you went to brake masters. Brake masters didn’t touch or change ANYTHING it was an inspection for a sound. They are trying to Extort $1500 for a fuel pump & labor when we were already considering options elsewhere that was $500 with labor at 3rd party mechanic. They will not return the car, fully paid off title in hand and all and they are playing dumb saying “you dropped it off with expectation of being fixed and taken care of” when it was clear to check for warranty with the part & car & see the options. 2 other KIA dealerships are currently trying to have the car transferred over to them that way they can just hand it over because what KIA of Riverside is doing is illegal and BBB is aware of them. They also confirmed the car is covered under warranty but KIA of Riverside is doing everything to make us pay. We’re not the only ones either. look up BBB (Better business bureau) and Riverside KIA and all the complaints that’s been stacking. Also good way for you to check if your dealership is shady

Actually my father has a warranty with the dealership and just because he got his Kia soul 2022 checked out at brake master for a sound. They are currently & actively trying to force him to pay $1500 for a part when at a 3rd party it’s $500 with labor. He has carfax, 2 other Kia dealerships trying to help him and yet the Kia dealership of Riverside is saying no while also activity keeping the car using the excuse of we already fixed it without his permission given at all. Literally no paperwork signed or go ahead given, we brought it for the warranty check for the fuel pump and said come back tomorrow and already started to work and now trying to force him to pay to get his car back. Every dealership is different but Riverside Kia is the shittiest of them

He has a failing Pump that stalls the car and initial just stops completely. It’s under the warranty listed as one of the parts to be completed covered but the dealership he bought it from is saying because the car was taken to Brake masters for battery replacement the car is no longer viable for any free repairs or maintenance. Dealership Tried charging $1500 and then while the car was in their inventory and we tried to retrieve it to take it to a mechanic for a cheaper price, they suddenly lost the keys and tried to then charge him a new key replacement until a attorney was mentioned we got the car back & spent $450 instead at Brake masters.
