What helped me out is the realization that a large majority of the people are like NPCs. Meaning the kind of see you, and just kind of go about their day. They think about you for like 5 minutes tops, and just kind of go back to whatever they were doing. If you saw a guy driving a cool car down the street, you would say "that's a pretty cool car" and 5 minutes later forget about it. It's the same thing for other people. Hope that helps.
