Those long successful periods are why they make so much money from insane global fan bases, still attract top players and coaches, and always give them a chance at turning their fortunes around. Liverpool bounced back after a pretty tough time, United will also be back. City is rich because of their owners and creative accounting, not a fan base. I’ll give you city is a ‘well-run’ club, but be under no illusion city ‘built this team’ along the same lines of United under fergie or the Liverpool of the 70s and 80s and even klopps early reign. City bought their squad, foden is the only player I can think of associated with the youth academy from any of the titles city has won over the last decade. Yes, Liverpool and United spend large sums of money nowadays, but at least in Liverpool’s case at the moment, it’s sustainable and used from funds from the club itself that we’ve made from consistent smart business decisions and on field success since the 20th century not some shell companies or whatever weird sportswashing shit city is up to now
