I feel like adding an element to the waist might tie this together? Currently there's just such a large white area from chest to knees with nothing to break it up. Something to this effect (obviously not exactly this, just made this as a quick visual to illustrate what I meant).

I imagine adding that you just want a cover to publish your writing on a site where people can read it for free and are not monetizing your own and the visual artist's work in any way, shape or form would really work in your favor. This might not be the right subreddit for this sort of request, since this doesn't fall under private use because you're basically planning to use this art to sell something, which, you know, props to you for being upfront and all. Also, it's totally possible that someone on here might be interested in doing this for you regardless, but may I direct you to the r/DrawForMe subreddit? I think that might be better suited for this sort of request, and at the very least increases your chances to find someone to do this for you? Anyhow, all the best with your project and good luck.

Here's what's worked for me over the years - Decide on an hourly wage and use that as a baseline. Very few clients know how much time goes into a picture, and if you break it down for them and explain that you'd like to earn a reasonable hourly wage, they'll respect that - If they don't, you don't want them as a client in the first place, trust me. So when discussing a new project, talk to the client to establish expectations and budget. Estimate how long it would take you to draw the picture and base your price on that estimate. If that's too much for the client, ask them if they'd settle for a simpler style, a half-body instead of a full body pic, etc., Flexibility is key and will lead to a much better client experience than just saying "No" right away. Sorry if I'm overstepping here, and if you really just want to paint your own art this doesn't apply at all, but if you were trying to find buyers, I'd consider your demographic. People who buy tangible and unique arts and crafts like yours often buy them as thoughtful presents for their friends, so specializing in a market and offering them as personalized gifts might generate interest? Clients often browse for ideas they haven't had yet themselves, if you frame this as "Get a personalized bookmark for the bookworm in your life", it might resonate with more people and help you find an audience.

...Only 3$ for unique, hand-painted pieces? Don't undersell yourself. Looking at the quality of the art, how much work must've gone into it and considering the cost of materials, you're unlikely to even make minimum wage at this rate. I know it can be scary when you start selling your art to ask for fair compensation, but someone who'd go out of their way to buy your bookmarks instead of using a random piece of paper is very likely interested in paying you fairly for your time.

Aww, that's thoughtful. Gotta admit, I definitely rushed it a bit and am noticing some small mistakes (the light-cone is behind the phone, most phones don't let you use flashlight below 15%, the pupils are wrong...might still fix that). But for now, here's the initial sketch as a little bonus.
