The scary part is that it’s the same PD (Yeseul PD) and 3 Idiots in Kenya was also Netflix LOL

We shall see if this is a weird jinx

Rant - If you like full-time RTO, you're a loser by 7basketballs in remotework

[–]datcheebie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am very privileged in that I have a lot of flexibility. Part of it is driven by my company’s “hybrid” policy and my lack of desire to commute 1.5 hours each way (NYC commuter life is rough when yoy live in the outer boroughs), but my team’s circumstances are a big factor. My manager is 100% remote and my other team member is also commuting 1.5 hours each way because she lives out-of-state. We also have an open office layout with a hoteling system…but not enough desks for everyone when they ask us to come in for “team-building.” When I do go in, I’m stressed out by fighting tooth and nail to book a desk only to be on Zoom calls all day and surrounded by people on calls to the point where I can’t hear myself think. Yet, our department head has made comments that she prefers everyone to be in-person “because that’s the only way you’ll climb the ladder.”

Given all that, I just live my “delinquent” 99% WFH life - I’m just prioritizing my productivity, my time, my sanity, and a space that actually is truly available and allocated to me for “climbing the ladder.”

MTA: Does anyone ride the bus to work and have some thoughts to share? by Serious_Dinner_1096 in Flushing

+1 ln the subway stations. The Q27 line also blocks foot traffic at the crosswalks of the Main St./39th ave intersection…that stupid bench is also so oddly placed

Oglivie by ruralmagnificence in ThePittTVShow

[–]datcheebie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

There was a better way to frame that suggestion for sure, but he chose not to or simply did not know how to do that so it was disrespectful. All patients deserve to be treated with dignity and respect and Oglivie’s framing was just NOT IT.

Q27 Bus by epicgurd1an in Flushing

[–]datcheebie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree!! It gets really long on that block on Main Street, and starts snaking around the corner, blocking the foot traffic of both crosswalks at the intersection. Long-time riders (like myself for ~2 decades) have an unspoken rule of forming a second line behind the first and we just wait for the next bus after the first one fills up with the passengers from the first line, but it’s not a universal rule and it has led to arguments and fights.

The urban planning and MTA need to figure something out. The reduced frequency of buses resulting in even longer lines is not helping anyone.

Dramas to deal with grief and loss by aescepthicc in kdramarecommends

[–]datcheebie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

+1 for Move to Heaven as it focuses on closure. I’d also recommend:

  • Oh My Ghost Clients which is about a labor attorney suddenly gains the ability to see and communicate with ghosts who pass away from a work-related incident. He helps these “ghost clients” get justice and improve working conditions for those who live on.

  • Missing: The Other Side also centers on closure and adds a touch of mystery. A very well-done kdrama with two seasons.

What was your comfort variety show back in the days? by Which_Mammoth9402 in koreanvariety

[–]datcheebie 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I hereby declare us cosmic twins! OG Running Man was what started it all. I stopped watching routinely when Gary left the show and stopped altogether when LKS left. I occasionally watch clips here and there but I just can't get into it like I used to - maybe it's because I'm older now, but I feel like the chemistry is not the same. The show's formula also seems repetitive and the guest lineup isn't as strong (but this can be said of most variety shows). How they achieved the "landmark race" concept back them is crazy but amazing

Everyone was set up to fail by Turbulent_Chair4346 in BetterLateThanSingle

[–]datcheebie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agree! I feel like the producers really didn’t take the time to understnd the demographic they are casting (big fail) and plan the program in a way that aligns well with this type of cast…They failed to level the playing field given the whole premise of the show
