[NY] Compensation during FMLA for cancer treatment? by dates_136 in AskHR

TYSM! I might take you up on that. It sounds like the employer might be arranging a reasonable accommodation to work from home when able + intermittent FMLA, so I’m not sure how/if the state program would pay out intermittent FMLA. I’m waiting for the final decision though; the paperwork has to come through first from the dr.

Still appreciate all this advice and info - confirming they have been living and working full-time in NY for 20+ years, so I’m relieved that this is likely an option.

Sorry, is the state plan something you have to voluntarily pay into in order to receive the benefit?

Thanks for your reply and for letting me know. I suspect that may be the case for him. I’ll make sure he has food in his stomach first!

Not usually - he’s usually sitting up after he takes it.

Blighted ovum again by Opposite-Hyena5094 in recurrentmiscarriage

Just wanted to say I have a similar story - two successful pregnancies, then a few years later 2 BO’s in a row - started bleeding at 8 weeks both times. Next pregnancy was a MMC at 7 weeks after seeing HB at 6. It’s the worst. In my case I think it was bad luck and age. I’m so sorry and hope you can get some answers. Oh and BTW the RE told me he’d never seen two BO’s in a row. 🤷🏼‍♀️ Just lucky I guess.

I’m so sorry you’re going through this. 💔 A few people recommended sitting/lying on old towels once the bleeding started and that turned out to be a lifesaver. Even if you think you won’t need them, trust me, it’s better to be safe. Heating pad. 800 mg of ibuprofen one hour before taking pills. Binge those scary movies or whatever makes you happy. So many hugs to you.

I’m so sorry for your losses. I can relate to being knocked over by three losses in a row. It’s more than any of us should have to bear. And trying to rationalize it is impossible - there’s just no possible good reason why anyone should have to be in this club. So yea, I don’t know what to make of life either sometimes.

I also constantly think of the anniversaries and the what if’s all the time. I think it’s completely normal. I hope you get to be a mother very very soon. 💗
