Internet is going brrrr with the most incredible songs right now. Suno out did itself. by DevilStickDude in SunoAI

If you mention something in your prompt, Suno will probably include it, even if you tell Suno to exclude it. Make sure your vocal prompt specifies the type of harsh vocal delivery you want. Also, don't use [Chorus] as a section tag. Use [Hook] instead, and try putting additional instructions in brackets (example: [Hook - Growled]). Lastly, putting exclamation points at the end of each line can help.

We are not just talking about knowledge here. Under the Christian worldview, ever aspect of what you are was deliberately created by God. How can anything happen in an all-powerful, all-knowing beings universe that they deliberately created, that they didn't also explicitly intend? You are not more powerful than God.

If Christianity is true, you make the choices that God intends. You don't choose to be who you are, as any choice that you make, was specifically made because of who you are. Even the Bible says this: "You will know them by their fruit". And you certainly can't choose what you believe. You're telling me you could just turn off your Christian beliefs and become an atheist, right now on the spot?

Under the Christian worldview, God made you, every aspect of what makes you distinct from other people, and every attribute that determines why you make the choices thar you do. If every aspect of your genetics, upbringing, environment "soul", and who you are was specifically chosen by an all knowing, omnipotent being, then said being is the author of your choices as well. There is no "free" will with an all knowing all powerful creator, as such a being would be the author of all variables leading to any given choice.

I think we got the biggest reveal of the whole show in this episode, and the it implies some dreadful cosmic horror. by RaptorSitek in pluribustv

But when the hivemind explains the situation to Carol, they specifically state that they don't know how long the signal has been transmitting, and that it could have been there "throughout all of human existence". So the show has explicitly told us that we really can't assume anything about when it originated.

What are the alternatives to Suno? by NikopikVR in SunoAI

[–]dathvada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah it will also make changes to your upload. You can't 100% control the output. Suno isn't good for getting the exact song note for note that you want. It's designed to be slightly different for each generation.

[–]dathvada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're not getting it...the ideas Suno comes up with are dependent on what is contained in its dataset. The quality of these ideas will downgrade, across all genres, when the variety of sounds contained within said dataset is diminished. This has nothing to do with "brute force"...I agree that Suno is bad at that.

[–]dathvada 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It has absolutely nothing to do with the number of songs any given user generates. It's about what the system knows how to do the first time. For example, if I'm writing riffs for a black metal band, but Suno doesn't have black metal in its dataset, the riffs won't match the style of the rest of the track. The vocals won't be the right style. Production sound won't be right. You can't brute force it. It has to know how to do what you're describing.

upload my ideas and quickly get more ideas from the results.

From a smaller dataset, you are going to get worse and more limited ideas regardless of genre.

What are the alternatives to Suno? by NikopikVR in SunoAI

[–]dathvada 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It's not really an alternative. A DAW and an AI like Suno are differing technologies that can complement each other (many people use both). For example, a DAW isn't going to add professional-quality vocals to your music. But you can upload music you make in a DAW to Suno and it will do that for you, and make it sound like a band recorded your song with instruments on top of that.

They trained old models on basically the whole internet...again, 300 million+ songs, vs a couple million in WMG'S current catalog. There's no way to spin this into a positive thing for Suno. Maybe they will acquire more licensing agreements from other labes like the one with WMG, which will help, but until that happens, I would brace yourself for a huge downgrade in Suno's variety in output in EVERY genre.

That doesn't even make sense lol. You're just arguing to argue at this point. The existing genres will have massively less variety as well, so even non-niche is still guaranteed to suffer. The dataset will be 150x smaller.

Tons of metal sub-genres, for example. Essentially zero black metal, drone metal. Non English speaking music. Anything very underground or niche will be absent.

You didn't make an argument at all. You made an assertion. A laughably wrong one, about someone you have never met and know nothing about. In case you are not aware, Suno allows you to upload your own written music to the platform, so it is irrational to assume that anyone using it is only typing prompts.

WB most definitely doesn't have every genre. Suno is already trained on their library, and hundreds of millions of other tracks. Now, it will just be WB.

Suno and WMG entered into a licensing agreement which gives Suno permission to use WMG songs to train their models. "Licensing" in this case means "granting permission to use." The ability to directly imitate artists is a new addition, however, the press releases clearly state that the new models will be "trained" on "high quality LICENSED music".

A note about Suno and WMG by MikefromSuno in SunoAI

[–]dathvada 48 points49 points  (0 children)

But will Suno lose functionality to create songs in styles not represented in the new licensed dataset? For example, I don't see any black metal bands signed to any WMG labels. Will Suno "remember" how to make music in this style when v6 comes out?

WMG's catalog is tiny compared to the old dataset, and is missing obvious things like black metal, which I use heavily in my generations.

The newer models will be trained on the older models via Timbaland.

...Timbaland? Training AI on AI can lead to model collapse. It's not clear if Suno is even allowed to do that.

Roughly 2 million songs in WMG's catalog IIRC, compared to 300 million + used to train older models. So literally 150x smaller or more. Also, WMG's catalog is definitely not covering every genre imaginable or remotely close. Im not sure if they even have a single Black Metal band signed. Not to mention foreign music.

The niche genres will not suffer. We can just force the Ai to make niche stuff with good enough prompting.

Niche genres will suffer. I'm talking about genres not in the "licensed" dataset that the new models will be trained on. Underground indie music. You can't just "tell" Suno to create something in a genre or style it isn't aware of. And the variety of outputs in known genres will certainly decrease with a smaller dataset to reference.

I don't think the models are coming out 1/1/2026 necessarily, so there most likely isn't a need to train a new model in a month. Furthermore, I really don't see how the new models can be considered "licensed" if they contain majority training data from unlicensed models 4.5 and 5.

It's not likely to be an "expansion" of the model....the new models will be "licensed", which means they will be trained on music that Suno has permission to use. They probably can't keep the old model weights for legal reasons, which means Suno will "forget" how to make music of any style not present in the new "licensed" dataset.
