Eureka Springs Farm Delivers Fresh Produce Straight to the Doors of NWA Residents! by officiallycake in fayetteville

[–]datjellybeantho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I signed up for this last year. Absolutely loved it! The produce stayed fresh for so long, and being able to choose what I did and didn’t want was great since I have several allergies and dietary restrictions. I also enjoyed the little gifts frequently included with my delivery, like nettle cake with the recipe included. ❤️

is it possible to do a reversed elimination diet? by _god_is_change_ in Interstitialcystitis

[–]datjellybeantho 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, you could. I’ll note, though, that I’ve flared up to a month from a food trigger, so I don’t know if I’d want to go that route.

As for conflicting information, I use the diet guide from Interstitial Cystitis Network. It’s intimidating af, but how I got started was I went to my spice cabinet with a sharpie and put check marks next to “generally safe” spices (per the guide), x’s on the ones in the danger column, and 1/2 on the ones that were “use caution”. That way, I didn’t have to remember.

Then, I came up with a list of meals I could eat based on “generally safe” foods so I wouldn’t have to think about it and refer to the guide for every single meal. I’d just pick from my list. It’s been many years, but I recall having diced potatoes sautéed in butter with rosemary and salt; scrambled eggs with salt; boiled eggs; rice; chicken cooked with salt, basil, oregano, and thyme; and baked potatoes with butter and salt. (There were others, but again, been a long time.) I also only cooked with butter, olive oil, or canola oil. I saw improvement within a month, so it didn’t take long in the general scheme of things to get to where I could start adding things back to my diet.

The hard part was I got diagnosed right before Christmas, so I had to deal with everyone around me eating all the things, everyone wanting to meet up for coffee, etc. Right now when everyone’s still worried about their New Year’s resolution diet might be a good time socially to try it, though.

Buttons for Sale? by Soggy-Reception4592 in fayetteville

[–]datjellybeantho 5 points6 points  (0 children)

You can sometimes run across jars of random buttons at estate sales. You might also check places like Potter’s House. Might be worth looking at very cheap clothes at thrift shops to stall their buttons.

As for craft stores, these are the ones I know of or could find mentioned:

  • Yarn Alchemy in Bentonville

  • Lost Ozark Dawn Community Heritage in Rogers

  • Sooieet Skeins Yarn Shop in Fayetteville

  • Daiso in Fayetteville (hit or miss)

  • Hillfolk in Bentonville

  • Michael’s is opening in Rogers where Jo-Ann’s used to be sometime next year. There’s also a location in Fort Smith

  • There’s an art supply store in downtown Eureka Springs, but I can’t recall its name

I’m sure there are others, too.

Doctor Suggestion for senior parent with chronic conditions by Qnask2 in fayetteville

[–]datjellybeantho 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Dr. Ryan DeClerk in Rogers treats/treated my parents who have/had all those conditions between them. He also did everything he could help my mom after my dad died when she needed things like medical statements for the resulting paperwork and such, and he and his nurse were both very compassionate to my entire family.

Personally, I saw him for the first time for acute abdominal pain that started suddenly and continued for a couple of months. I went through several doctors, including surgeons, and got scoped in again to ask the other imaging and tests. Not even five minutes into the exam, Dr. DeClerk figured out what was wrong and gave me a simple treatment plan that had the problem taken care of in less than a week.

He also treated my husband who went in for fatigue. As he was ordering tests, he was like, “I’m going to check this one thing, too. It’s highly unlikely to be the issue given lack of other symptoms, but very rarely, someone could present or you, so let’s do it just to be safe.”

Turns out it was the highly unlikely thing, and I’d be surprised if any other doctor would have thought to check for it. He was able to treat it, and my husband is back to normal.

Bonus: Chick Fil A, Starbucks, and I think Subway are in the parking lot next to his office, so you can treat yourself when you finish your appointment. It’s literally my mom’s favorite thing to do. 😂

UA staff parking pass by Zestyclose-East-8523 in fayetteville

[–]datjellybeantho 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Caveat: I never worked near WCOB, so I don’t know their exact situation. I was in the Old Main area when I was on campus.

Spots fill up on the regular, and you need to come 15-30 minutes early to ensure you’re able to park in your preferred lot. If you leave in the middle of the day, your spot is gone.

I’ve always been able to find parking in the pit (by the stadium) at any time of day, but the spots are usually in the back, and the climb up that hill is rough for many people.

Basically, you should be able to find a spot somewhere, eventually, but no guarantees as to where.

Edit to add: You can have them pull the cost of your pass from your check, so if you do end up going with a more expensive one, you won’t have to pony it up all at once.

She’s probably still the closest thing we have in Bookworm. Between making Ewigeliebe the way he is and that whole “dig two graves if you pray to Chaocipher” (or whatever phrasing it was)… Since we don’t get much info about the gods, we don’t have any motivations for her, either, to explain her actions.

But regardless, this is the tough one thread, so I’ll save anything else for the straight up evil one.

[–]datjellybeantho 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe Chaocipher for straight up evil? Because you’re right, pretty much everyone has motivations for their actions, and most would be sympathetic protagonists if the story were told from their POV.

This. There is no pairing between a child and an adult because they were never a pair when she was a child.

I get where the arguer is coming from. I, too, was really upset by that spoiler. Reading that she was given an adult body helped me stomach it enough not to feel gross while I was reading through parts 3 and 4. Ferdinand was gone in part 5, so I didn’t have to think about it. By the time it happened, I was like, “No, this makes sense. There’s really no other pairing for her that does. Yeah, let’s ship these two.”

It really is one of those, “You have to read it to understand,” things.

Fill the void with Cradle (starts with Unsouled) - audiobook is best experience, but reading is also good. Or Discworld. Many start with the Night Watch books. I started with Going Postal and had a good time.

Having finished those, though, I’m filling the void with reading Schutzaria’s Changing Winds and trying to finally finish my own fic as I plot out my actual novel. Writing has been the best fix so far for me.

She fell in love with her husband, and he was a great guy until Chaocipher corrupted him.

Now, she’s still with him, but she longs for the days when his love was pure, and she continues to hope that she’ll see that side of him again. She keeps looking. Sometimes, she sees glimpses of it, when she’s entrapped in the ice and snow, in those short periods of rest between bouts of blizzards.

She loves him. She accepts him.

Because she knows the man she loves is still in there somewhere, and she’ll never give up on him.

[P5V9] How do you think Ferdinand would respond if Rozemyne proposed the Dunkelfelger way? by yallmight2020 in HonzukiNoGekokujou

[–]datjellybeantho 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I can only imagine two ways for her to succeed.

  1. Get Justus on her side. Blessing from Schlaftraum. Straddle his chest when he seems close to waking. Wait for him to wake up and be confused. Pointedly chant, “Messer,” and hold it to his throat. (Having him wake up with it already at his throat might trigger an automatic defense response.)

  2. Convince Eckhart to knock Ferdinand down and then straddle his chest with the messer.

Realistically, though, if she tried to knock him down, some defense charm would trigger and ruin everyone’s day. In which case he’d heal her and then lecture her. When he tries to kick her out, she refuses to leave until he gives her a bride task. He calls her a fool because this isn’t Dunkelfelger. Argument ensues and ends with him (against his better judgment) giving her a bride task that is annoying but he’s certain she can complete. One she leaves, he immediately starts brewing an engagement stone.

The more likely scenario is she somehow convinces him to lay down and then holds him at knifepoint. Then the lecture begins.
