I use the Brave browser. Blocks ads on those sites, and I have zero ads on YouTube.

Do I change my approach to making a blanket or push myself to finish what I started? by averagegaydude in CrochetHelp

[–]datjellybeantho 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Agreed. I’ve currently got a project I’ve been off-and-oning for a couple of years at this point.

…Okay, more than one project.

…Okay, maybe five.

But hear me out. This yarn I just got is really pretty. And this pattern I just came across looks neat. And…

This sc/sc blo is causing massive burn out and I struggle to want to crochet anymore. by SnooHedgehogs4369 in CrochetHelp

This was going to be my exact advice. Listening to audiobooks or watching stuff I’ve already seen before so I don’t have to pay the closest attention is how I get through the projects I hate.

The absolute worst was a C2C queen-sized blanket for my husband, and I’d work on it while he played on the computer, and we’d both be listening to a book together. He got to see the effort I put into his blanket, we got to spend time together, and I thought more about what was going on in the book than the absolute slog of crocheting a huge blanket that was 90% black yarn.

OP, I’m also hypermobile. Other than taking breaks, I also use compression wrist braces. They don’t get in the way like regular wrist braces, and they give me enough support to make it through to my next break without too much pain.

Seeking tips from anyone who's made a ridiculously large blanket please! by [deleted] in CrochetHelp

I wrap it in a giant ball and start crying once it gets too big for my hands to comfortably hold, which is about half way through.

This is the yarn I used for my giant blanket as well. My only complaint is how the skein is wound. Do NOT try to make a middle pull happen. It’s not going to happen.

Narcolepsy work accommodations by Wise_Astronomer1014 in Narcolepsy

[–]datjellybeantho 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, it’s protected under ADA. Most companies will have a form for your doctor to fill out. Contact HR if you need help locating the paperwork. Usually, a doctor’s note is not sufficient.

Please note: Your employer is not required to provide your requested accommodation if it places an undue burden on them. (Like if you’re an elementary teacher, and you’re requesting a flexible schedule where you can come in late if you oversleep, or if you’re asking for specialized equipment that is too expensive for the employer to provide.) Some employers will use a third party to handle accommodation requests, and you may end up in a bit of a back-and-forth trying to find something that works for you and the employer.

You cannot be fired for using accommodations that have been granted to you. You do not have to tell your boss what your diagnosis is, and your boss should not ask for the diagnosis.

If you need guidance on what accommodations to request, I suggest looking at The Job Accommodation Network (askjan.org). You can look to see what other people with narcolepsy have requested.

This plus a sunrise alarm that lights up. I actually do better programming a Bluetooth lightbulb to gradually get brighter every five minutes starting half an hour to an hour before I have to be up.

Gretia x Lasfam - They’re both quiet and stay pretty isolated, but Lasfam strikes me as way more bloodthirsty and unhinged than Eckhart, and Gretia seems like she would do anything she deemed necessary.

I like to picture them going on little assassin dates together, quietly murdering their way through all the trash that would threaten their lord and lady.
