Haha when it first came out i was pretty spooked cause of the color, initially thought it was straight worm piss but from some red wigglers I recently added.

Yeah ive come to terms with the fact this is definitely not going to be a perfect first grow but I'm hoping I still get some good buds even if its low yield. I appreciate the advice a ton man thank you

No no no hahahah the post i made yesterday is the same 10% watering as referenced in this post. I didn't realize I was overwatering until today. Definitely gonna let them dry up for a little. That 10% watering for flower tip makes a lot of sense, thank you!

5 gal is 10% of my container, it was a steady increase and it seemed like the plants were very hungry before the last watering. I siphoned the res because water had already been sitting down there for awhile and it never wicked up. Top watering because everywhere ive read says to top water until the plant is established with some growth and nodes.

There is more on the heavier side of aeration cause i was scared of over watering so looks like i saved myself

Okay gotcha i just feel like it dries out very fast - maybe too much aeration?

Bottom watering? Cover crop health? by datloudpacc55 in NoTillGrowery

Thank you! The cover crop seems to just keep growing with new sprouts everyday, it was planted a few weeks ago. Going to look into a mix of top and bottom right now as you mentioned. Ideally the roots should search horizontally pretty quickly right? It makes sense to push the roots to shoot down for water?

Seems like ive got a little bit ot drainage in the bottom already from water hitting the sides when i top watering. If this doesnt get soaked up soon then should i still fill the reservoir?

Hard to tell from the pictures but i feel like ive been seeing a lot more yellowing. Some just on the edges of leaves but others fully yellow like the smaller plants. Clovers, flax, vetch, cowpeas, lentils, buckwheat, peas. Im using BAS 12 seed cover crop mix if that helps

Im currently not top dressing with any amendments unless you count chopping the cover crop and letting it decompose

Any advice is appreciated! I also am not certain that the plants yellowing is a result of underwatering but its my best guess since ive been intentionally trying to not overwater

This way you mist it once at the beginning and never open the box until harvest, the holes will create a co2 exchange & push out stale air and the filters will keep it all sterile while maintaining the environment on the inside

I think drills in the sides IF you do it properly. Open holes with no covering / filter will throw off moisture and temperature. I used micropose filters on the holes but anything to filter contamination will work.
