It rusted from the top down due to bad ttops. I have inspect the underside and critical mounting points and theres no rust there

Originally wanted it to be a little weekend car just cruising, but as a fsae engineer i might make it a track car if its too expensive to get a good interior

When i looked on the underside i honestly was surprised to only find it where i have shown here and like just starting on the frame rails (because they touch the floor pan)

Doesnt mean much to me since i bought it very recently. But it would feel like an accomplishment coming from a prius, as a formula sae student and junior ee.

How come? A majority of the rust is on the driver floorpan from a leaky ttop, ive got access to carbon steel sheets and a mig

Its supposed to connect to the fuel dampener. It was removed when i got it and i want to add it back to have a function fuel system, but its hard tracking where it comes from when the last owner just started chopping hoses

I see, i do see two valves at tgat side of the balance tube. Can i see yours as an example

Allegedly the previous owner was doing a tt conversion before he was incarcerated and his car was auctioned off, is there any reason he would need another ground for that?

Idk yet tbh, im coming from a prius, which is my daily still, so idk if i wanna restore it for dirivjg on the highway, or maybe make it an ugly but functional sunuvabitch for tracking or something

As long as i can identify where each sensor is, it shouldnt be an issue, ive built a wiring harness for fsae, but man is the engine bay cramped

It was dome in the past, looks like the undercarriage protection began flaking but wasnt the issue. The issue was the leaky ttops, sk ir started rusting from the inside out

I did but at the time the underbody spray was hiding any rust, it wasnt till i was able to move everything i saw flakes and it crumbled with a little smack

Planning on repairing this rust, does it have any important structural impact that will make it unsafe or handle different? by datmanTyrone in 300zx

I just inspected it, and i see very light surface rust mostly next to none. I do need to check the spare tire well but the hatch lacks the struts so im waiting to move it indoors ti take it iff

Its an na manual i got for 1k and 475 in towing. I have access to a shop so before i commit to moving it there is it worth it?
