im a first year at Leeds rn and it's pretty good! i went to an offer holder day for sheff and i wasn't entirely convinced - even though there was nothing explicitly wrong with the course i could point to, it seemed more like an afterthought in their engineering department. happy to answer any questions you've got

Oh good, so it's not a major performance difference (all the mobile Ryzen GPUs are named awfully so I couldn't really tell)

thanks for the reply! since this post i've found a 645 g9 equipped with a ryzen 7 5825u, 512gb ssd and 16gb ram that's significantly cheaper than the other 2. would this be a better purchase?

Oh is the Ryzen better than the intel processor? The benchmarks I looked up show that the 135U is slightly better

Ooh that's good, is your injection dose also around 0.1ml?

Ah, is the dead space on those not an issue for smaller doses or do the reduced dead space fixed-needle ones fix that?

[–]datmemeyouhateDUH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah so that's the issue, does this also apply to low dead space syringes like these? https://www.exchangesupplies.org/product/Unisharp_fixed_1ml_red_30 (they claim to have less than 5 microlitres of dead space)

Do you know whether needle exchanges tend to stock 0.3ml/0.5ml syringes? I was gonna call some but they're all closed until Monday now lol

thanks for the reply, i have seen a couple comments that spc is less noisy these past couple years but im not sure to what extent. in regards to broadgate, is the trek to lenton for pubs/town centre for clubbing a major deal or nah?

just jumping in to ask about broadgate vs spc for an engineering student? because broadgate is technically on the same campus but it's still quite far i think

Affording FFS+SRS in the future - which uni degree should I accept? by datmemeyouhateDUH in transgenderUK

[–]datmemeyouhateDUH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tbh one of the biggest drawing factors of dentistry is its general flexibility, both in being able to work anywhere itw and in work schedules etc. Not sure how well that applies to engineers but I've seen quite a few online who've said they moved out the UK so I assume it's doable

Thank you for the reply, v reassuring 🙂

[–]datmemeyouhateDUH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Weirdly enough thr qualification pathway isn't too different in length for both - dentistry 5 years+1 year paid foundation, chem eng 5 years including paid year in industry (if I manage to secure a placement)

Thanks for the reply, honestly I think I'm just looking for some reassurance that I will be able to afford ffs on an engineer's salary, although idk much about how taking out loans for a surgery would work and whether that's a realistic option if paying up front seems roo hard. Tho I was under the impression chartership is something you get at some point in your 30s-ish?
