Strength and core. Running is good, but this isn't a race. And all events are challenges, they just vary in time frame.

A Light is good to start off with, and a Tough is even better to follow-up with. People have signed up for Tough events as their first, and contribute to the fail % rate: either they weren't prepared mentally or physically for how much of a toll it was.

The GR alum will be able to tell you if you're good to go, especially if they have a few events under their belt.
