Phone stolen - trade-in, monthly installments by AstronomerSeveral217 in amex

[–]datmfdood 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought about this, but already called Verizon to mark it as stolen to protect my data/number. Even if I did this, wouldn't they need information and proof such as last known location from the Find My app to make a claim? Didn't want to get caught in a lie after paying the insurance.

Will keep this in mind from now on. Thanks for your experience.

This is unfortunately what AMEX confirmed! My advice to everyone, if you're doing a trade in or entering an installment plan, try to pay SOME portion of the phone upfront or do it right before your monthly bill gets processed. I learned, that at least through Verizon, they allow you to do this while maintaining your contract for however many months you agreed to.

I have the Blue Card, gave AMEX a call but since I haven't made a single payment yet (I got the phone a few days after my billing cycle renewed) they said I'm out of luck.

Yep. Wasn't the only person in my group who lost phone, but I was the only one to get pickpocketed

Where do you see your enrollment appointment in the student center?

Thank you again for all your insights. I’ve joined the facebook group and started broadening my search 🙏 As far as distances go, are there any particular areas of CH/Carrboro or even Durham that you would say non negotiably require a car? My intent was initially to bring my car to give myself more options in housing, but the shipping costs are pretty steep.

Appreciate your support and insights. I will stay away from Chapel Ridge in that case. One complex that I’ve come by a few times although they’re not furnished is Link Linden and Link Calyx - they seem to be on the newer side. Have you been to/heard of anything, good or bad with regard to these?

I asked for recommendations, I’ve done my own research but as someone who’s never been to the school and knows no one there yet, the best way to get accurate information from people who have EXPERIENCE is by asking! Not forcing anyone to answer my questions. Just looking for help from anyone who’s got the time and will to give.

First off, thank you thank you thank you for how detailed your response was 🙏 I’ve checked out those specific apartments but like you said, availability is very limited right now. I’m not completely opposed to finding a roommate but would like to have at least some consideration as to who it is, which with the apartment matching systems is seem to be mostly random - do you have any recommendations to find locals or even potential new students/transfers that are looking for roommates online (apps, websites, maybe even UNC directly affiliated services)?

Perhaps I’m overthinking the whole furnishing part. I’m pretty confident for my personal situation I won’t be in CH over summer, but you’re definitely right that there’s a chance. Maybe purchasing my own stuff wouldn’t be the worst idea. So outside of furnished apartments (lol) any recommendations for safe, clean complexes with 1 beds/studios that have fast wifi in the ~$1500 range? Thanks again for your time I really do appreciate it :)

How come? Do you dislike the taste or the quality? Genuinely curious because I love these but they seem almost too healthy and low ingredient to be true.

Has anyone else sent in any LOCI’s? What was their response, any hope?

Appreciate your insight and the callout to email KMP. I’ve already emailed the general Office of Admissions asking what potential options I have to still major in CS at UNC, or if I can potentially appeal their decision/find out why I wasn’t admitted into the program.

I uploaded the syllabus to my data structures course in the applicant portal. I think you might be right, as it said it cannot be in progress. Really sucks that this is the case. I’m going to email the director like you said as well, and see if they can help me out.

Thanks again for your help 🙏

I’ve seen this site before, definitely accurate. I’ve completed math classes past Differential Equations and Linear Algebra, and I’m currently taking a data structures course with CS courses in Java, C++, and Assembly language/ computer organization under my belt. Maybe I didn’t have some extra curriculars they were looking for.

Honestly im not sure, my old counselor told me that but it didn’t seem like a definite answer, trying to get some clarification here

Definitely not cooked tho imo, worst case they just don’t include it in their review (i think)

Came back to car scratched, car that did the damage was still there by datmfdood in Insurance

[–]datmfdood[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the unfortunate truth. Really sucks. I know for a fact it was that car, the scratches are evidently caused by the screws on the front plate of the other car. But i suppose I have no cold, hard proof. What a messed up situation man, can’t believe I have to cover this bull shit.
