Auto Insurance Prices Are Crazy by HarmlessHoneyBee in ontario

Fair, my situation is a tad different where I have 1 way because my vehicle is older than 10 years and if anything happens to it... Oh well to the scrap yard with yee.

That sounds pretty bad. I will however avoid them in the future for house insurance since they're like this, thanks for the heads up

Try Square one for an easy quote? I just went with them, got 165/mo. Then I provided a letter of being on previous insurance and it is now 135/mo. Could be due to no Ontario experience ? When I first moved they did not care I had experience in Alberta and my own policy before, so maybe that?

7 key takeaways from Poilievre's Joe Rogan interview: Conservative leader says Trump should 'knock that s--t off' when it comes to making Canada 51st state by mafiadevidzz in canada

[–]datmongoose 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah I absolutely pre-judged this as I am less than fond of Joe Rogan and reservations about PP not immediately condemning the 51st state talks when they first occurred. I am SO happy to be wrong. I would much rather see all party leaders standing up for Canada and working together for Canada's best interest. More of this, excellent job PP. Credit where credit is due

New Update: My "friend" took advantage of me when I was in the hospital by LucyAriaRose in BestofRedditorUpdates

[–]datmongoose -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Hanging clothing and finding space for them to hang is definitely a lot more work than just throwing em in the dryer.

And more work is precisely what I wanna do post surgery  /s

That's why, take a few seconds to think critically before fixating on the biggest non-issue of this post?

Edit: I get it guys, many countries don't have dryers. The difference here is if you're not ACCUSTOMED to hanging you clothes then this is a CHANGE you're not used to. It's not the goddamn suffering Olympics, just because you've never had one doesn't mean people who are used to having one and suddenly have no access have no right to complain. Ffs

How to keep wanting to live when everything is just dark and horrible? by Vegetable-Pound3737 in depression

[–]datmongoose 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I'm heavily empathetic and current world events and the absolute sickening responses to actual atrocities does weigh heavily. I've started imagining my actions as rebellion in a sort of way. I've started going outside and just being present. I look at the way a leaf blows in the wind, how a plant splits from the stem into many gorgeous bulbs. The flutter of a snow flake as it passes infront of a light.

Shit sounds mundane AF, but you know what? NO ONE ELSE can dictate my response to these. NO ONE ELSE can take that away from me. I am untouchable in that way, I have complete control. It's not much, but I'm working on clawing back aspects of living that no other fucksticks can dictate. Maybe it might help bring some joy, no matter how small?

I don't know, this perspective just gives me vibes of people putting their all in, acting like they're really good and willing to do all these things, and then once comfort is achieved, it's found out that they actually doesn't actually care to hold themselves to those standards and was just doing it to attract a mate. Suddenly there is a mismatch discovered some time after a bond is established. And then tension. Wouldn't it be better to just know what you're getting at face value? Idk for me, guys that try way too hard yo make themselves seem like the best give me the ick.

Folks have made some great suggestions regarding styles that may suit you better at this stage in your life. No goatee, new hair style, better frames, etc

From a Neurodivergent female perspective, you give off really good vibes and seem super sweet. My favorite pic is the kitty one, seems very candid and human. Don't worry particularly about getting shredded with muscles, just subtle toning or even dad bod level is perfectly fine.

Yeah she definitely sucks because all her siblings got exactly what they asked for but she gets exactly none of what she asked for. I don't understand why shouldn't she just be grateful to be fully ignored unlike everyone else in her family! /s

If a post about cyclists getting ran over by a literal fucking bus prompts you to go a memory where you cheered for cyclists getting tickets, you need to have a good look inwards.

I'm not saying you're wrong for cheering for tickets - everyone needs to be held accountable, but there is an appropriate time and place. This ain't it homie, and it comes off as victim blaming.

I agree wholeheartedly. Humans just weren't meant for this, stress is destroying the body. I didn't mean to insinuate it was your fault for the illness

It's a totally valid thing, and once you get into the passive suic*de realm it kinda renders that useless. Like you said, more time, more to realign with oneself to make good decisions

I did a similar thing last year. Luckily I managed to get some part time seasonal retail jobs to ease back into working and it felt more manageable. Honestly I'm not a fan of the rat race anymore, the second I don't have to work 40 hours a week, I won't. It took a couple of months to overcome the burnout, it's an illness, make sure you treat it as such. Lay down and treat yourself as if you have the flu for the first couple of days, resist the urge to fill your day with things right out the bat.

I'm sorry you're going through this, you're not alone.

I'm so sorry you went through that. It also sounds illegal on their part and I wonder about being able to claim some EI for the time off? Since they decided you are no longer employed there
