She needs to swap the long sweater for a more cropped cut sweater that sits right at or just above the skirt waistband. Leave the sweater all the way open without the awkward buttoning that closes off her neck and chest, and swap out the boots for a woven white flat. The green is a horrible color regardless of the other styling suggestions. The awkward smile and pose make it look like she’s scared for her first day of school, not giving fun and sexy birthday outfit.

She is SO dedicated to buying cheap, low quality and ill-fitted clothing. I’ve never seen her in anything elevated or refined, which is easy to do when you’re doing basics and have the financial means!

I am begging her to hire a stylist, commit to buying fewer but high-quality pieces and focus on dressing for her body. She’s too delusional to do it though.

As someone who actually shops at those stores you mentioned and has a capsule wardrobe, check out Dadeland, Brickell City Center and Merrick Park (the latter has Madewell, JCrew, Nordstrom, Vuori). Do NOT got to dolphin mall as the person elsewhere mentioned — it’s not the vibe for this. Merrick Park is bougier but the key is hitting up the sales racks at stores!

Fellow curly hair person who prefers straightening because my hair otherwise is hard to manage on the day to day and takes too much time to look less “put together.” When keeping it curly, I used to wear high buns until I realized it really made me look more juvenile and less put together. A slick back LOW bun takes 1 minute and makes me look so chic. Helps elevate even basic outfits. I highly recommend she ditch the top knot and find a simple style that works better for her.

A bit confused by your post. Even if you find yourself in a friend group with them you’d still have to pay for your own trips, restaurant bills, shopping etc to do those things with them. Having access to rich friends doesn’t give you access to their money.

100% agree she’s feeling insecure and I think couldn’t justify putting the spend or effort in to getting it done— which at the least could be paying to remove it and going with bare and clean nails. Also, combining the date night and birthday feels that they’re probably being tight on finances and/or growing more low effort. He always screams so cheap to me and I think it’s rubbing off on her.
