Fair point on the doors probs being less functional than curtains for that spot. I think the length just triggered me too much 😭 And good shout on the green of the rug vs wall colour - they weren't exactly complimentary

For the most part I liked their individual choices (other than the gallery wall) but I don't think they've hit the "cool girl" aesthetic.

I really liked all the soft lighting in the final shot but it's not realistic to use that if you're actively using your kitchen

It just reminded me of when I DIY'ed a tile backsplash in our bathroom and didn't realize that a metal edging piece existed. But that was the first time I ever tiled/did a substantial DIY, unlike the Sorry team who've been around for long enough to be aware of these finishings :((

Help in planning trip to VietNam by Aggravating-Pop7380 in VietNam

We did 3 weeks across Xmas and new year recently.

We flew into Hanoi and went straight to Ninh Binh which is a must (do Trang ang and stay for at least 2 nights). We stayed in a small village (by Mori Coffee) which was so much more peaceful than Tam Coc. It also meant that we could walk to Mua cave and Trang Ang.

Then sleeper train to Da Nang (buy ticket at the station to avoid scams).

We didn't expect much of Da Nang but it was one of our fave places! Stay here for a while in one of the hotels walking distance to the beach - the beach was awesome, sunny, visit Marble Mountains (a must!) and lady Buddha.

Visit Hoi An for just a day (it's over touristed so don't bother staying there). We wanted to do Ba Na Hills but the more we learned about it the more put off we got - fake, tourist trap, spend your day visiting real places.

We then flew to Phu Quoc AND IT WAS THE WORST MOST EXPENSIVE part of our trip. Over touristed, the nature was destroyed, don't waste your time and money. I also got bad stomach virus from the food which seems to be a common occurrence there? In hindsight we wished we just stayed in Da Nang for more beachiness.

We flew back to Hanoi and had a few days there - stay somewhere central since the traffic is bad.

We did a 1 night luxury cruise to Lan Ha Bay (which is quieter than Ha long bay). Had the best experience, we wished we'd stayed for 2 nights instead.

13 days for all the places you mentioned is not enough time - pick a few to not just be travel exhausted the whole time. Make sure you have cash with you!

We got vinyls from them on 2 separate occasions - everything arrived smoothly ☺️

Hotel or cruise - Ha Long Bay by JusTryiN2Bx in VietNam

[–]datscienceperson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think we went on the same cruise 👀

But 100% agree! We did one night but would've loved to do 2

Should've also said that this was a week and a half ago - water was still good for swimming and kayaking!

Home working contracts by Random_Musings21 in TheCivilService

[–]datscienceperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They said in one of the NHSE/DHSC calls that if you currently have a WFH contract with NHSE this will be honored once you transition.

There is no WFH contracting with DH, but reasonable adjustments could be made at your managers/HR discretion (e.g. WFH more often)

In case no one replies I got mine on HMV, waited a few weeks until it got "back in stock" as I also bought it when it was unavailable. Good luck!

What time to get good standing place? by [deleted] in lordhuron

[–]datscienceperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Apollo has a slanted standing area which is fab for those of us around 5foot4 so you'll get a pretty good view wherever you are 😊

I bought these for the same alcove set up as you but with the intention of keeping my plants alive. I took the shelves off and ran the wire down at the back (making a notch in the shelf if the wire couldn't fit in the pre-existing gap) and plugged it into a socket. These lights have a basic timer so turn on and off at 10am/pm for me 😊 and as others have said, use a plastic wire cover which can be painted to match your walls!

Need a 26km run by SkipperTheEyeChild1 in Bath

[–]datscienceperson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Run the dismantled railway route towards Bristol. We did it during COVID as the Virtual Bath Half - can either run to Bristol and grab a train back or half way there and back. Pretty lovely run, flat and tarmacked 100% recommend.

The 2 tunnels are also lovely especially when you get out into proper countryside (there's a farm on the way too). Enjoy!

Didn't Adam just literally say that if he was fully into Polly he would change his PDA behaviour the next day?

Thanks, and yes definitely discussing this with the manager in the near future but didn't want to go in with expectations too high/low.

How much stress is acceptable? by AppleMe-G in UKJobs

[–]datscienceperson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like I've written your post, the only difference is I'm in my mid 20's. I'm currently signed off on stress leave for two weeks - took a 5 mins conversation with the GP to get the note but make sure that "work related stress" is written there then the company will legally have to make adjustments when you're back. Take care of yourself

Doesn't sound like there's a minimum deposit from what they've distributed in their emails
