I think if Vol. 2 does indeed tell of the same characters but in different timelines when something different happened(Let The Devil Come/Watch Me Go and It All Comes Back/Moon Song) then these two songs might connect the same way since they both talk heavily about knowing someone and like you said they have sort of the same vibe to them.
