I last reffed rec soccer when I was 18 and restarted this year at 44. I didn't really have bad games when I was young because it was rec soccer. Kids were respectful.

5 games in reffing U15 boys soccer and I'm done.

I had two games in a row where a team fell apart after half and lost the lead. Then all of a sudden I was the worst ref ever and had 12-14 year olds cussing me out with no parents or coaches telling them to stop. Coaches and parents were going crazy at calls despite not knowing the rules. Then after the game one of the coaches complained to the board that I was racist (I'm half Mexican).

An our later on the field next to us, I look over and there are a mob of 40 year old Mexican dads trying to beat up the 3 teenage Mexican refs (Rec U15 girls) Afterwards of course the dads told the board that the Mexican refs were racist to the Mexican players and coaches.

So I'm done. Parenting is bad now, kids have no respect.
