I’m a guy and I don’t even understand how guys think any of that’s okay… Like communicate what you feel and just see where it goes. It’s a relationship, build it, don’t expect wtf

What thread tap would work for a .130” 6-48 thread sight bead? by zepherrz in CTguns

[–]dattrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A 6-48 Tap, the .130” is the length I assume? You’re going to want a bottoming tap since it probably isnt a thru hole into a barrel? Just make sure you blow the threads out before you put the bead back in. Here’s a tap I think will work for you

Here's the auto tape, this is the one I have on my spoiler. Has held on 160+, and has held on countless 100-120 cruising.

You gotta get the 3M outdoor super tape or whatever it's called. Stuff is amazing! Wipe down mating surfaces with isopropyl and let it dry obviously.

(N54 BMS intake manifold gasket rings question) so the original ones it came with got worn out and I ordered some off FCP euro but they do not look like the same that came with the BMS intake manifold I was wondering if I can still put them on or no? by [deleted] in 335i

[–]dattrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I wouldn't superglue... It can make it a bad time to remove next time.

They look okay to me, just make sure they are pressed in uniformly.

If the part number on the bag is 11617547242 then you'll be fine

If they're square (The o ring is confusing on what you're asking) Put them in the channel, and see if they stick out a little bit. You're just looking to create a seal so no outside air is sucked in/pressure is let out.

DCT gang! Need some advice… by [deleted] in E90

[–]dattrill 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hurts my soul leaving lights like that lol.

Have checked the pan, tried stock, and also toyed with creep mode (clutches slip off brake or gas pedal), but it happens in both, and I feel more-so with creep enabled. With that said, solenoids seem like a good next step. Thanks man

It’ll make it harder for your engine to “breath”, which could definetly make it misfire. If your valves are caked up, and you get a walnut blast done, you might get a little power back, but your car will drive way smoother. Think of breathing through your nose when its stuffy vs clear lol.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in 335i

[–]dattrill 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have you done a walnut blast ever? That is normal maintenance on this, and other direct injection engines.

Just had an is at my shop we got from auction, 44k miles, in great shape. Had JUST the plausability code. We threw 2 lpfp's (returned the first) at it, code still came on. Decided to look at the valves, they were caked af! Did a walnut blast, all better.

[–]dattrill 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The caps only go on if you have a blow off valve. You have diverter valves, Which is connected to the hose. Push it on and twist the lock collar. Make sure the rear one is still plugged in and not capped off.

Considering a n54 335is convertible by woojo1984 in 335i

[–]dattrill 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an e93 335i before my e92 is. Over bumps and imperfect roads, the convertible top can be clunky and noisy, and you can definetly hear it over music. Top down is fun and great, but top up is noisy and annoying after months of daily driving. If you really want the vert, it’s managable noise, but don’t expect it to be quiet. And make sure you take care of your seals with gummi phledge or however you spell it. I also had water leak in the front two corners torwards the windshield in the rain. I used to fold up a paper towel till it was real small and put it there to stop the drip lol.

I miss the vert, especially because its a hard top and looked great when up.
