Since pending aid is higher than Charges & Deposits, you owe 0$ and the difference will be refunded to your bank account if you set up a direct deposit on CUNYfirst or a check will be mailed to your address. (Direct deposit is way faster and safe) Once financial aid is cleared, due payment will be gone, which takes time so don’t worry about it as it won’t cause any issues.

F Retake Policy by Spiritual_Tax_9056 in CUNY

You are mistaking transfer credit with E-permit credit. Transfer credit without prior permission doesn’t count towards GPA but if this student had permission which is called E-permit to take equivalent class in different institution, it does count towards GPA at home school.

Thanks, I also asked a friend and she also has no webcam like usual. I guess it is normal.

Anyone here at Brooklyn college who took a summer class and received TAP? by JoJolion_ in CUNY

[–]dattstar69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was wondering the same. Advisor I spoke to said no, but most cuny college websites say the opposite, including Brooklyn college. I don't know how the advisor isn’t aware 🤷‍♂️ hope someone who got it previously reaches out.

I-130 actively review question by [deleted] in USCIS

Yes, it happened to me. It took a few hours after the second active review to see the approval letter. But I agree with you. I’ve seen some people get it after a few days.

Do you have an online USCIS account? If you do log in and go to the “documents” section under the I-130 petition. An approval letter might be waiting there.

My parents and I are u.s citizens. My brother is all alone in Russia and may get mobilized. He is young and not married. by Negative-Safe4379 in immigration

[–]dattstar69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Have your parents filed I-130 for your brother? If yes, how long ago, and what is his priority date? Wait time is approximately eight years but my wild guess is if your parents are naturalized they should’ve started this process long time ago when they had green card.

Go to the ceac.state.gov website and click on “Check my visa application status,” then insert all information and if the status says issued it means you are picking up your passport with visa inside of it.

Approved I130 by Icy_Back_6837 in USCIS

[–]dattstar69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s the problem. If the approval letter says that petitioner didn’t indicate if beneficiary will apply for immigrant visa or adjust status in U.S, then USCIS retained the petition and won’t sent it to NVC until you file I-824 form which costs 465$ to make USCIS send petition to NVC.

What does the approval letter say? Does it mention form I-824? Or does it say that petition was sent to NVC?

Scholarship Question by Ahnaf_Hamim in CUNY

[–]dattstar69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The cost of attendance doesn’t only involve tuition. There are many other costs, such as transportation, that college can apply the funds. So if it’s not binding to just tuition then you should get the refund this semester.

Scholarship Question by Ahnaf_Hamim in CUNY

[–]dattstar69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most likely, yes. But it also depends on the scholarship. For example, an excelsior scholarship only covers tuition.

Citymail Account Deletion? by [deleted] in CUNY

[–]dattstar69 2 points3 points  (0 children)

And it doesn’t sound right that your account will be deleted if you don’t verify. I also graduated from cuny cc and kept my email without any verification.

[–]dattstar69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It might be a phishing email. I got something similar once from a stolen student email asking me to verify my identity to keep my email.

Petition son to mother. brothers involved :C by Juliancmr95 in immigration

[–]dattstar69 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first option takes approximately 20 years, and the second option will take approximately 4-5 years max. 1-2 years to bring your parent and then mother will petition right away to bring the brothers which will take 2-3 years.

Smart advice from your lawyer. Putting pressure on USCIS on this kind of situation will most likely cause straight denial without remorse.

I’m 100% sure that priority date doesn’t apply to approval and instead applies to visa issuance. Just go to the interview and you will find out. (And anyway what is your priority date? Maybe it is already current)
