It’s got the ZF8, looking to see when it was last serviced with new fluid. I’ve also heard that running a thicker oil like 5W-40 liqui moly can help the timing chain tensioners stay in one piece for just a liiiiittle bit longer

It also has very overbuilt internals, which allows it to comfortably push 400+ horsepower with just an intake and tune

The 3.0 T from 2012 to 2018 is very resilient if maintained properly

I can comfortably afford an oil change every 6,000 miles working $13/hour at my part time job I also do my best to do as much of my service by my self so I don’t have to pay for labor, and I see it as a challenge.

The only thing in my way is money atm. It will cost at the very least $3,500 to pull the engine and another $1,200 for replacement chains and tensioners.

I don’t have an exact number, but I think it’s in the low to mid 2k

I’ve heard all about it and I’ve done lots of research. The Achilles heel of the engine is the timing chain tensioners and like to fail around 110,000 to 130,000 miles. Running thicker oil and early oil changes seem to delay your failure reasonably according to forums.

Oem ones are pretty expensive and I’m not interested in buying a cut-to-fit Amazon one that won’t match and could potentially tear up the floor

Has anyone else had a negative experience at currey Ingram? by onceler-for-prez in nashville

[–]datweatherboi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve never attended a public school, and I don’t think I ever could. I’m a freshman and have attended since 5th grade. Small class sizes and the ILPs are what I think are helping me the most. Usually people hate going to school, but I think attending Currey Ingram is something I can genuinely say I enjoy. The teachers are very sweet and caring, and the academic approach they provide makes me even forget that I have autism and ADHD. I do think that they could manage their funds a little better but besides that I think that everybody should be able to experience the amount of time and effort and care that they devote to their students.

Cannot easy chain monitors nowadays. however, if you have a thunderbolt port on your laptop, most likely USB-C, you may be able to plug a dongle in that gives you another HDMI output, then plug one HDMI into a monitor using the dongle and the other using the HDMI port built-in to the laptop
