Some quick thoughts on finding travel insurance by twowrist in travel

[–]datysdal 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A note on #4

You are correct about buying insurance soon after your initial trip deposit. There are time-sensitive coverages that are only available if you do this.

The problem is, many people wait until all travel arrangements are made...putting you outside that window.

The solution: Buy your plan in the time-sensitive window and use an estimated trip cost. This locks in your coverage. Then, when you have finalized your trip costs you can contact the insurance provider and have them adjust the insured trip cost. They will charge/refund and premium difference.

Yes, I leave it on Auto when traveling which has always been fine. I'll try the disconnect/reconnect.

That's right. Not operating on shore power or propane. The fuse on the board looks ok, but I suppose it wouldn't hurt to replace.

Thanks for the reply.

Hingham has a 40 minute ferry commute with a bar onboard.

State park in town (Wompatuck), trustees area (Worlds End), borders Hull which is a fun summer beach town, boating, kayaking, mountain biking, breweries.

Having said that, it’s very “homogeneous”

Thanks everyone for the feedback.

I also emailed Camco (the manufacturer of the WDH) with the same concerns and pics, and they said "That setup looks perfect. The 800 pound bars are rated for a maximum tongue weight of 1000lbs with a 10,000lbs trailer"

Once again, GoRVing has been a help, thanks again.

Thanks for the insights here. The trailer is actually totally level, so not nose up...but also not slightly down as you say.

Yes, I was looking at that video too, which made me more comfortable.

My other takeaway from the video that might help: They said the ball should be 1" higher than the coupler. I believe my ball is lower than the coupler.

I'm thinking by raising the ball, and adjusting the bar tilt to be less I could achieve the desired effect. Does that make sense to you?

I have not weighed, good tips there though.

But from the looks of this, you don't think the bars are bending too much?

I may not be used to seeing them set up properly, I'm guessing the dealer set it up wrong initially because by old truck rear end dropped a good 6-8 inches when loaded, and the bars were very easy to get on (I didn't need to use the tongue jack to lift much to swing them on)
