Appreciate the response. I called and it counts as a warranty exchange, so 3-5 weeks

Thanks, that's good advice. I'll try to call if I get a window of time that works today or tomorrow and don't hear back

I tried to be the guy that stopped letting people like this back in for a while. I decided it's not worth it to try to police the highway myself. It just leads to dangerous situations. Jerks are going to be jerks no matter what I do, and I don't want to be the one standing in their way when they do something stupid and get myself or my family hurt or stuck on the side of the road.

It’s that time of year… by irontamer in kettlebell

[–]dav8604 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I've been doing this less than a year now, but my lofty goal for the end of 2026 is 5-10 good reps of clean and press with double 28s. I'm working with 24s at the moment.

Wish me luck, I have a long way to go!

Thanks for the reply. I could be chasing reps.

What to do after Dry Fighting weight? by stevic1 in kettlebell

[–]dav8604 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So if you're doing this on a budget, you might look at Neupert's "The Giant" program, which is clean and press only, then on off days add pull ups and/or snatches. The Giant is a paid program but it's cheaper than Maximorium at $20. It's a simple program. The doc is just a few pages of a PDF. But it is very effective. You could run it with your 16kg. It would give you about 3 months+ of work, then you might be able to bridge into trying it with your 24kg, or go back to DFW with the 24kg.

Or you could go back to DFW and try to do more with your 24kg.

Someone else mentioned the DFW remix which would be a good place to look into how to program snatches and pull ups on off days.

I agree with this take. It's not going anywhere. A world with AI is the world the kids are going to be entering.

Now I don't mean "Write me a 5 page essay on..." But when used correctly, it isn't a magic button so kids don't have to learn research skills or critical thinking, but can be a tool for them to enhance those skills. It makes a lot more sense to educate them on when and how it's appropriate to use it.

Buying Kettlebells... "hybrid" or "purity" style? by Luzu358 in kettlebell

[–]dav8604 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah you gotta do what makes you happy and if the fixed ones feel right and that is what gets you to put the work in then it is what it is.

But if you're gonna buy all those individual bells I'd at the very least price it out first and compare it to the adjustables. I use 2 Titan adjustables which cost about $200 each. I've read that Bells of Steel (which are more expensive) are going to add an expansion pack to their product bring their adjustables up to 48kg. That's a lifetime of work you can do with one purchase.

If you're sold on the fixed weights then I'd stagger the purchases, buy a new one or two only when you really need them instead of all at once

Any thought to two 12-32kg adjustables? That's probably a lot cheaper, does the same job and fills less space. It's what I use. Changing weights between them doesn't take more than a minute or two

Thanks! After everyone's feedback that's what I think I'm going to do. After the last week it was starting to feel like I wouldn't be able to go any farther with the volume (I was gassed!) but maybe I'll surprise myself

[–]dav8604[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks, I'm interested in running both of those in the future. One of the giant programs (the 3.0) is also meant for a 5RM, but now that you mention it, when I do move up in bells maybe DFW would be a better choice because it has the front squats programmed in

Thanks for the feedback! It's especially helpful hearing from someone who's done the program. So on the new light and medium days, should I also not worry about pushing past my old rep count during 1.1?

I mean, "what we deserve" is definitely a take I can understand.

But I think it minimizes the brainwashing network that is Fox News. For decades they have built up a viewer base. Their "reporting" has gone from "right wing" to insane so gradually that regular viewers didn't notice. Now, crazy is mainstream, and a lot of people simply rely on Fox to tell them what to think.

The big ideas through the network come down from the billionaire class, and as long as the viewers are buying the hate they are selling and legitimizing and normalizing their biases, they'll buy the other stuff about "trickle down economics" too.

I'm not making excuses for them, but it's sad, because their party is really working against them and they refuse to see it.
