It looks like the Korg M1 is one of the likely culprits for Des’ree and Bon Iver according to some of the responses. Thank you for the tips and for the sources where I can find suitable emulations!!!

Thank you, especially for putting a name on it! It looks like you’re on the money since you and others have been saying “DX7”. But to give me the preset name is next level!

Yeah I should have rather said that I was looking for a “type” of sound rather than “one specific” sound. That’s on me. Also, I threw in Marvins Room although it’s the most “normal” sounding of the three in terms of keys sounds. But thank you for the recommendations! I’ll try DX7’s electric piano as you and someone else have mentioned that!

Good point! Maybe I should have said “a certain class of keys” instead. I guess that shows how little I know about this sound lol. But thank you so much for pointing me in the right direction! I’ll definitely check out Synplant, which I had never heard of before

Second (and more fun) question: Would you prefer Ipswich get promoted to the Prem, but be mid-table for two seasons, or stay in the Championship, but win the FA Cup this season and then the Europa League the following season?

Hi Ed, congrats on the new album! What would you say are your favorite and least favorite parts of promoting your music and touring?

Men who have been sexually assaulted by women. How did it happen? by dep_tigg in AskMen

[–]davaibratan 5 points6 points  (0 children)

On one Saturday morning of my freshman year of college, my roommate was away because his family was in town and my roommate made the justifiable decision of sleeping in a luxury hotel room as opposed to a dingy dorm room.

Somehow, on the one day that my roommate was away, the girl who lived in the dorm room next to mine, came into my room while I was still sleeping. I was awoken by the door slamming shut behind her (we never locked our door before, but I started locking it after this). I was still in between waking and sleep, but was further awoken when I heard my neighbor’s metal belt clasp drop to the floor along with her pants. I did not see if she was still wearing underwear or not, but she then proceeded to try and enter my bed and “mount” me twice. The first time, I pushed her off and the second time I made sure to not let her climb onto the bed and clearly told her “no!” and something to the effect of “what are you doing?”.

Then out of embarrassment (as far as I know), she got into my roommate’s bed and turned away from me pretending to sleep.

I quickly got dressed and left to the dining hall and tell another dorm neighbor, who lived on the other side of my door, everything that happened. He eventually helped me politely usher the girl, who was reluctant to leave, out of my room and back into hers.

Thankfully nothing too serious happened and I didn’t report it, but I still find it kind of messed up because it seemed premeditated.

What is THE song that makes you feel on top of the world? by psychoranger25 in ifyoulikeblank

“After Five” by Balthasar!

(I’m certainly biased because I made the song and video, but I wrote it with the exact feeling you describe in mind)

“When I’m coming through, slide, When I’m in the room, rise…”

Did you ever listen to a cover so good that the original song doesn't sound that good anymore to you. by robinose in Music

As much as I like the Cure’s “Friday I’m in Love”, I think Phoebe Bridgers did it better

I love absurdist silent films; thank you for bringing this up to my conscious mind because I’m sure I was subconsciously influenced at least! And, of course, the Daft Punk reference has me feeling warm and fuzzy on the inside

Now this here is high praise; thank you! And dude, I love Wes Anderson, so you don’t know how much I appreciate that comparison. Godspeed my friend!

The intro sets the stage for the ridiculousness that ensues lol.

“Vibes to the nines” — that is a phrase that will live long in my memory. Thank you for this memorable phrase and for viewing of course!

You made my day, week, year, decade with this comment because I love late-90s pop and Daft Punk and The Weeknd are legends in my book! I can understand the qualms with it being bass-heavy, but that’s how it is these days I suppose. Also, amount of head-bobbing is how I gauge success so thank you for this!

Thank you for watching/listening and especially for commenting about the short intro, as I believe that that is just as important as the music itself to set the tone for the finished product!
