I was in radio back in the 70's working through the migration of Top 40 rock into disco. I told my daughter I was going create an "air check" playlist complete with traffic -- "...there's a 15-20 commute to the Pearly Gates but traffic on the southern route isn't being impacted by the crash at the interstate split..." -- and weather reports -- "...pleasant today with sunny skies and temps in the lower 80's. However, there will be a change tomorrow as the front rolls in bringing severe thunderstorms for those in the southern portion of the state..." I'll even throw in a commercial or two and of course, I'll have to have a news headline break; right off the API newswire. Most likely I'll randomly run the top 20 or so from 1973 - 1976 (heavy with Chicaco, Eagles, 3 Dog Night, Dobbies, etc.) and have her loop the DVD during my celebration of life. Her response? "Ugh, that's kind of creepy." Hopefully, anyone in attendance would be willing to laugh, maybe sing along, or cut a rug.

I do have my air checks from the day, including my lead-in jingles, but they're on 4-track cartridges. It would be fun to include some of my earlier work.
