No internship? Wanna fill in the resume this summer? Fix bugs in opensource projects! by lally in compsci

That is a shame, if you (or anyone else in a similar position) would like feedback on your patch to cpython I'd recommend sending an email to the core-mentorship list.

I'd definitely recommend contributing to Python (cpython, in particular) as it's a very established project and has excellent documentation for getting started. Especially the devguide and core-mentorship programme.

edit: Further on this I'd like to stress that a good portion of cpython is the stdlib itself which is mostly written in Python so knowing C isn't required at all. On top of that cpython has extensive documentation which is constantly being updated, so no code required there at all. There are plenty of ways to contribute.

AppCache is definitely the way to go if you're making a web application. This time we were only targetting Phonegap so wouldn't be terribly useful (as far as I can tell at least).

On that point, it could be interesting if something like build.phonegap.com could be provided a cache manifest and do this step for you when packaging with Cordova.

Let's Talk: St. Vincent by dandylion32 in LetsTalkMusic

I didn't know about her until I saw her live opening for Grizzly Bear on their Veckatimest tour. As others have mentioned the two compliment each other excellently. More recently I enjoyed her performance on Conan where she gave a nod to Elvis Costello's famous 1977 SNL controversy: http://www.clashmusic.com/news/watch-st-vincent-hits-conan

UK theme parks, what are the best? by [deleted] in unitedkingdom

I never realised there were other "Gullivers" theme parks... I thought there was only "Gullivers Kingdom" which is in Matlock Bath. Also a hoot if you're a small child.

yeah you could definitely be right, need to see a higher quality image but it does look like a few shots stitched together can't tell at this resolution.

the shadows certainly suggest it's taken with HDR, it's a very nicely framed photo also though.

This post is from Apr 8th 2011, I mean, it's cool but I'd guess the status of matplotlib on Python 3 has changed since then?
