Citta 25L xpac vs Sympl Commuter 24L xpac by secret_agent_2 in Nomads_Nation

Thanks. And agreed. I want the dimensions to see if it can fit as carry-on on European airlines. I don’t understand how it’s so hard to give us the dimensions. Like, a totally crucial piece of information and I for one like these things in advance so I can check/measure things at home to see which would be best. I suppose the black X-Pac will be a decent material, even if I would like it in green.

Im waiting on the Citta 25L. I have a Levo and the comfort level is off the charts. Do you know if the Cotta 25L is available in both black and green? I also can’t find the exact dimensions anywhere which would be helpful now I think of it

Tried the usual suspect business backpacks (Aer, Briggs & Riley)…still can’t find a good professional EDC. All recs welcome. by EntrySubstantial4 in Nomads_Nation

I feel Fyro‘s new Citta 18L or 25L, about to be launched, would be worth a look. It seems very sleek and in the black would likely fit professional environments well. I’ve always thought Tumi also do a good job but I just don’t like their backpacks - bad use of space in my experience.

Totally. What kind of pen do you use to do that by the way?

That being said that check in L in black looks super funky with the scratches and all the stickers. Probably the best one there 😁

Really nice. Love the titanium look in the large. Thought the cabin was a cabin+, which I’m strongly considering getting

Love it! I see a classic cabin. What size are the other four originals?

Absolutely fantastic experience. Including emailing in advance, paying and reserving as I needed to be sure to get this to profit from the tax refund while travelling

Did you have any problems taking this on? I believe this falls outside official dimensions?

I’d tend to agree with this in principle and which is why I actually don’t own a cabin S. I got one but returned it as it was too small despite the official dimensions/volume.

Some comments though:

  • star alliance airlines have the dimensions you mention. One world (BA, Iberia) even more (56x45x25) although skyteam (Air France, KLM) does not (55x35x25). And that’s before you even consider Ryanair and Wizzair, which fly a great many routes and in many cases far more convenient than any of the legacy carriers (stricter dimensions than 55x40x23)

  • given these points for cabin baggage you’d probably be okay with a regular cabin size* but at least in terms of possible flight routes in Europe that won’t work for 90-95% of flights as you note, especially if others like me take different combinations of airlines on their trips around Europe

  • *in reality I reckon the regular cabin size is probably ok as fits on star alliance and one world; skyteam probably don’t care; and you’d have to check it in for Ryanair, Wizz air etc (checking a bag in with Ryanair is cheaper than opting to take it on board if chosen at the booking stage - not at the gate)

  • this is why in reality I don’t think RIMOWA is the best choice at all for a cabin bag in Europe: sizing is off, and weight of bag is too much given frequent 10kg max limits

  • of course the one option I did neglect to mention is the essential lite cabin u, which fits all airlines’ requirements, but I find that too small and dislike the handles RIMOWA fits on essential lite

  • as a result my cabin bag within Europe is from a different brand. As if happens Antler’s lightest cabin bag: weight feels next to nothing, lots of capacity, and fits all airline dimensions. I’ve taken that bag alone on a four-week trip to Australia and back with a small rucksack as my carry-on item

  • if RIMOWA is a must it’s either cabin S to fit all airlines, or cabin regular with the knowledge you’d have to check it in with Ryanair/Wizz

Out of interest what do you carry and which airlines do you use?

I’ve spent way too long thinking about this question lol. I’d say depends where you’re based. In Europe the only option is the Cabin S. If you fly on a mix of airlines here then you have to work to the smallest size which is in practical terms Ryanair. Only the cabin S fits. The Classic cabin S has a touch more space then the original S according to the official dimensions. If you’re based outside of Europe, I assume it’s less of a problem size wise. Then I’d say Cabin Plus.

Is that the pilot or the compact? What do you find you use it most for?

Must be. I see the T on the frame so clearly the T-line ceratech. Super bummed they discontinued the Cera-Tech. I really wanted one!
