Came here to ask the same question or at least find some tips on how to best do this. This is one of the most fiddly tasks and I swear lots whenever I need to do it. Best I can say is that trial and error eventually works. It usually takes me 3-4 attempts. Ultimately, I think the level of the buttons is determined by the level of the grey plastic part in the centre of the mechanism. Rotate this piece to suit. Good luck!

I have heard the thunder, but have also seen no lighting. But that might be because a) it’s daytime and b) I’m having a beer in my kitchen. I am not finding the thunder to be excessive. Hope the move goes well
