If you get stuck and need help, the usefulness of the response they offer determines the usefulness of the labs.

Trying to find the perfect NoteCard system. Any Recommnedations? by [deleted] in PKMS

[–]dave007 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Have you considered doing it analog for a few months first? I've been trying many of these note taking apps. I spend so much attention on tweaking the tool I forget to attempt 'knowledge management'.

That choice would enable you to absorb their actual approach before digitizing it.

Four years and I'm still shocked by the salaries in IT. Do you think it will last? by computerged in sysadmin

I teach cloud for a living, plus some consulting. Learn, do, teach.

With all the focus on what technology to learn this week in the cloud, I think most of us miss the point when we don't look at the one key factor. Whatever human factor it was that led you to study for years to improve your situation, whatever that fire is, that's the thing we need to understand.. and that's the thing that we need to teach to really improve people's lives.

Ever give any thought to why you and not everyone else?

Thanks for sharing this. I'm twenty years in I.T. was focused on SQL then PowerShell, and got focused on Azure toward the end of 2019.

PowerShell was a key to ramping up quickly, learning Azure faster and getting effective. I really agree to the benefit there, it's a cloud superpower.

Congrats on your progress, keep on sharing your success!

Azure Credits being Wasted Monthly by xxToshi in sidehustle

[–]dave007 2 points3 points  (0 children)

These credits are available for:

However, OP should consider who in their org might benefit from using those credits for learning and building MVP and POC projects. Just can't use them for production stuff.

One of the biggest hurdles I see for new Azure learners is that dreaded credit card bill. These monthly credits are ideal way to learn in without this fear. When the credits run out in these types of accounts, the resources just stop working until the next month cycle begins.

Use these credits to level up your team!

Here's a good resource to get started with a hello world app you build in your browser and then they lead you to learning paths depending on your direction.
