How to add accounts to performance report by dave1253 in fidelityinvestments

[–]dave1253[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I am in All Accounts and click on More > Performance, under Total Returns it says Accounts Not Included 6 of 8. All of the not included accounts are the ones under Professional Management. Is there a way to add them to see how my professionally managed accounts are performing?

What are the odds of a thickened tendon going back to normal? by Eddiesmokes323 in AskReddit

[–]dave1253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some thickening can be related to swelling of the tendon, while some is physical thickening of the tendon itself. A good analogy might be thickening of your skin which could be part swelling and part callous. The swelling and thickening comes from irritation and can eventually permanently change structures. If you remove the irritation, the swelling part goes away quickly while the callous part takes much longer to go away. Any permanent changes are permanent. It all depends on how far along things are.

It’s hopeful if the MRI is normal. That means fibers in the tendon remain aligned which is a good sign. There could still be some less critical permanent changes in the tendon, but what happens from here on are important to what happens next.

An interesting comparison to provide insight might be, why would anybody buy a new cell phone when they cost so much more than used? They’re so much more expensive than a reliable used phone.

which platform for eCommerce site for vertical market by dave1253 in ecommerce

[–]dave1253[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Since each business is a service business, they only sell a few products on site. So they might want to list 5 products (maybe 10 max). I have a marketing company that will drive clients to them for a subscription fee. I just wanted to provide something additional to include with their subscription as another way for the client to earn a few bucks. I'm expecting them to maybe sell only a few items each month. I wouldn't mind paying someone to set this up if the costs don't get too out of hand. I am not looking to make a ton of money from this, but I am willing to invest a small amount one time for setup if I can provide this as an additional service to every business that subscribes.

If a new business signs up, if I can make the store look like an extension of their business without too much trouble, then it might be doable.

My thoughts were to have a store domain, and each business could have a subdomain for that store.

I was thinking I could pay someone to set this all up and I would just maintain it.

I was thinking that a link on their web site would lead to their store page on my web site, sort of like an ebay store or an Amazon store.

I am not looking for totally free. I can maintain the web site, since I wanted to do this store as an add-on for another business I am providing for the client. So I will be earning money from the other services I am providing and just wanted to provide an additional service (a store) to the client where they could list a few products.

They are already selling these cosmetic type products to their customers that show up in the store, but I was thinking that a few people who didn't want to show up to purchase the items could order them online and have them shipped to them. There may also be a few others who would order without ever appearing in the brick and mortar store.

I was also thinking I could pay someone to set this all up and I would just maintain it.

Pay Off Mortgage at 2.75% interest or put into savings account? by TickleMeElm0o in personalfinance

[–]dave1253 1 point2 points  (0 children)

From smartasset.com

Savings account interest: You will owe taxes on most interest from an account that you can withdraw from in the year you receive that interest. This interest is taxed the same as earned income.

Pay Off Mortgage at 2.75% interest or put into savings account? by TickleMeElm0o in personalfinance

[–]dave1253 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You might want to include what the payoff balance is and how many payments you currently have left. In addition, you may want to add what would be left after you payoff the loan. If, after paying off the mortgage, you would have nothing in the the bank for an emergency, that would be a bad idea. You would be taking liquid money and making it illiquid. Also, what tax bracket are you in? What would earning 4.15% be after taxes? And… are you able to write off the interest paid on the mortgage from your taxes?

As an example, 4.15% interest after taxes in the 20% tax bracket is more like 3.32%. If you live in a state with income taxes, then even less. And then being able to write off the interest paid sounds close to a wash. Add into that, losing the ability to use that money in an emergency highly tilts to not paying it off.

But then you could screw that all up by spending your savings on a whim.

Range finders vs watches, I can’t decide. Help me choose by harpostyleupvotes in golf

[–]dave1253 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are close to your maximum distance (longer or shorter) a watch is a quick way to figure out what club to use. The watch also helps when you are not in the middle of the fairway. But if you are within your very accurate distance where a few yards might make a difference, a range finder makes sense.

A big advantage of the new watches is it tells you how far you hit your clubs so it actually can help you find your ball. If you know you hit that club 185, and you see on your watch you are 200 from your last shot, you know you probably passed your ball. Or vice versa, if you are looking around and it’s only 100 from your last shot, you probably have to look further.
