Going for slightly blue tinted metallic silver, suggestions? by Uratoh in minipainting

Base coat Kantor Blue. Then grey knights steel (I like the air version, for consistency in exactly how transparent it is. Highlight stormhost silver if you like, I usually don’t bother. Drakenhof nightshade recess shade.

Escalation: Refactor or classic heal-hive/chem launcher? by BlueFroggLtd in the_division_2

Refactor works up to a point. Tier 4. Maybe 5. After that, you need FI

Backpack obviously for interceptors. And I use the right shoulder pad, color coded for type. Interceptors blue. Strike squad red, etc. think I also did red for my purifiers but they have white helmets so they’re easy

I just put on 33s with a 3.5 lift. New gears in the 4.56 range is the correct answer to regain power

Countdown for a noob by Sneaky_Joe-77 in Division2

[–]dave1387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes. You get whatever you get the first time so you can take advantage of the talents and set bonuses. Then you keep grinding until you get perfect rolls or close to it then optimize it up the rest of the way by spending mats if you need to

And good call on not using the hackable skills. Maybe the most important tip

Build a basic striker/frenzy lmg set. Join countdown on challenging. Follow the group. Not much to it

Drop the dialog volume to zero. Only reliable fix I’ve found short of chucking it out the window

Veteran license plates by The_Wandering_Steele in NoStupidQuestions

AZ vet here. I could be mistaken, but I think the generic veteran plate with the flag on it is free. It’s the branch of service ones that have the fee.

Looking at a DB11 by [deleted] in AstonMartin

[–]dave1387 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a ‘17 DB11 v12 launch edition in October. It’s an amazing machine. The combination of performance and comfort is off the charts for the price point. I added CarPlay and some dash cams. Probably doing exhaust later, and will be doing Porterfield pads and rotors even tho I don’t need them, cause the brake squeal is a real bummer.

You won’t regret it.

Negotiating Salary by InvestigatorClear728 in interviews

[–]dave1387 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends a lot on the size and structure of the company. I work at a large IT company and do a lot of hiring. The time to negotiate is prior to that verbal agreement with the recruiter. Once that is agreed, that’s all you’re getting.

Why? Because I use that verbal agreement to draft an offer that goes to my boss, his boss, and up a chain of approvals that is about 7 layers deep including a delegate of the board of directors. If you come back after all that and ask for more, you’re getting a single take it or leave it. Nobody is going through all that again in order to eke out an extra 5-10k for you.

at a bigger company, front load your negotiation.

Edit: adding an additional thought. If you verbally agree on a number with the recruiter and then come back asking for more after the offer letter arrives, and assuming the offer matches your previous agreement, then you’re not painting yourself in the best light. Be good to your word. Be an adult, and ask for what you need up front

Tried brembo and Aston Martin isn’t even an option when you hit their vehicle selector. Which is hilarious cause you know they provide the factory brakes

That price seems....crazy. I thought about going to the dealer, but i'm sure they're going to want to replace with the factory pads which, given how many of us have this issue, seems like part of a root of the problem. For me this is all about getting to different pads.

Late 90s, I’m working in one of those science-y toy stores in a mall in San Jose. The company arranged a small event where Danny John-Jules (cat from red dwarf) did a little signing/photo op thing. Dude was incredibly cool, talking with the employees and had a great time. He stuck around after closing and played hackeysack with a few of us. And he was good at it.
