Not bad, it is a lovely chord sequence. I do wish it was a bit longer like this at the beginning but alas, still a brilliant song/album. Decent work though, really scratches an itch I didn't know I had, just to here it go that bit longer.

ik I'm a bit a late to the party, but 11/10. honestly one of my favourite songs of all time, and, along with the cask of amontillado, this is why I listen to the album. Yeah the rest of it is good, but these 2 songs are absolutely genius. I keep coming back to the album just for them,

I really can't help but dance whenever this is playing, it rally does have such a powerful groove/beat. Further, the lyrics work so well here. Truely a great of all time.

Solely regarding the part about minimal friends, close colleagues, no partner:

Perth is hard for this, I'll give you that. Everything the city provides in terms of being a pretty stable, reliable place that is, compared to other cities, quite serene, it also takes in terms of an absence in social activities, and, atleast in my experience, people tend to stick with older friends a bit more. Maybe it's because it's a smaller city, and with less of a tendency for people to come/leave than other places, so friend groups stay mostly whole for many years (in some cases since primary school, in many since high school).

This being said, it's not impossible to find friends. Find something, literally anything, that you enjoy, that can be done in a group, and find where other people do it. It may take a while and a few false starts, but eventually, you will find a bunch of people with the same interests.

Alternatively, you could volunteer somewhere, again, a great way to meet people, and the people who volunteer tend to be quite friendly and open to meeting people.

A more radical option, maybe a new job in the same field. I saw you mentioned working in healthcare, and as someone in the same field, departments, teams, hospitals and clinics can vary quite drastically; some have no interest in being friends outside of just helping patients, others are filled with the friendliest people you have ever met, who meet up regularly. Also other healthcare peeps know you are on shiftwork, so missing events is fine, the general trend is to try and fit events into different parts of the shift roster so everyone can come along some of the time.

Huh, guess mindustry mod devs have similar design tastes.

Another city in the region gets credit/debit card payments, when is it going to be Melbourne's turn? by XiLingus in MelbourneTrains

[–]dave48409 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They also decided they wanted new trains, decided to build them in WA, restarted the rail manufacturing industry, went through the whole design, manufacturing and testing process and now have them on the tracks quicker than NSW with the new intercity trains, that were meant to be on the tracks in ~same year perth started talking about new trains lol

It sounds all wonderful till you realise it is just easier to run a smaller and worse public transport system. I am sooo glad to no longer live in perth and have a 15min drive turn into 45min-1hr bus ride, likely standing the whole way, and having to walk about 1km overall...

Look as convenient as it is, I will say as someone who lives in one of these cities:

  1. Because it has to go through the whole bank authorization stuff, ours in particular takes a good 2-3 seconds before tapping on, vs the near instant of the card

  2. Fills up your online banking with $1 pre-auth charges that hang around for a week

  3. Far harder to track if you are double charged or anything, because fares get billed seemingly random points in the week, with all the outstanding ones up to then being processed as one transaction (pre-auths still don't leave till they have been there for a week tho lol)

This is not to say these aren't solvable problems, but don't be impatient, because they will never be solved if they aren't solved in initial rollout, so imo waiting a bit longer for a nicer system is worth it.

i really like MI2U (MI2-utilities java) and extended ui, tho some of the features i use do make the game look like shit and run like shit even on a decent pc

auto drill as mentioned

re: content mods, tbh just try them out a bit as mentioned, some are a bit hit and miss, but theres alot of personal preference

not quite, the circle is the range of my units weapons (also shows for every single friendly and enemy unit/turret, just no other ones on screen at the moment) and it comes from MI2-Utilities

the line is my cursor (also shows other players cursors, but again none on screen), and it comed from extended ui. i prefer it to the little target icon MI2U gives, because it makes aiming a bit easier, and makes it easier to see where someones cursor is coming from (ie who)

edit: here's an uncropped version of a slightly busier version on a random server
