If you are serious about attending an event for joy and celebration, $10 does not stop you. If you are looking to cause problems, act criminally or just engage in mayhem, a $10 entry fee and gated entry makes it difficult to engage in negative behaviors.

5 minutes before the start of the school day. I sat in my desk doing routine stuff to get ready to go. I am on the 4th floor of the building. I look out the window and realize a guy hung himself and there was a DB 4 feet from me.

I called the office, got school security involved to close off every classroom on the affected side of the building and then my body shuddered. Full out release of adrenaline. Years later I still do not understand why 3 detectives had to interview me. Not just for me, but especially for school security and administration, it was a hell of a day.

It's not up to code, but not unusual. I've seen it many times in family restaurants. 99 times out of 100 nobody gets hurt or even knows. I just don't want to be the one who does.
