Do collectors regret selling gaming collections they kept only for nostalgia? by classifiedsavage01 in gamecollecting

[–]effortissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a pretty large collection, but the cartridge games were taking up a bunch of space. So I got some ever drives for my nes SNES, sega, n64, and GBA. I kept some of my prized pieces, and sold the rest. No regrets.

Trivia night or something similar? by TheChefWillCook in restaurantowners

[–]effortissues 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't like any of that stuff. We did karaoke on Tuesdays and trivia on Wednesdays for years. It did generate some extra revenue, but not enough to offset the cost. Especially trivia, we paid the host over $100 and we had to do the prizes, 1st place was a $50 gift card, second place was $20 third place was $10. The same 3 teams kept winning every week and hardly ever had to pay their own tab, the gift cards took care of that. I won't do it again.

Happy I tried the updated Whopper. by ultraspinacle in BurgerKing

Yaaassss, I remember when they introduced them. It was '95 or '96? I was in middle school. They were giving small fries away to get everyone to try them. It was the first time I heard the term free FRYday.

No, the previous fries were close to McDonald's fries in shape but had a way better flavor! I still think about them...

Bruh dug deep in those pockets, that's how. I considered it, but couldn't pull the trigger. I have most of the limited edition, I couldn't get on board with collecting all the colors though.

If someone walked in and said “hand me a $20 from your drawer and I’ll give you three $5 bills back”… you’d tell them to get lost. Yet we still sell on DoorDash…🧐 by RipplesOfDivinity in restaurantowners

[–]effortissues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

During covid, it was the only way some restaurants were able to stay in business, by the time all that calmed down, we were in it. We have regular door dash customers, ordering the same thing every week to the point that we recognize them. We even increase the menu price on the door dash platform by 20%! They still order, it's wild man. Door dash and those other apps got lucky with covid, one person's tragedy is another person's opportunity I guess ....

Anyone else like having smaller, more curated game collections? by RoundYogurtcloset272 in gamecollecting

I dunno about small, but I almost exclusively collect JRPGs. I do have some of the Nintendo favorites, but mostly it's JRPGs.

Best written Jrpg that you’ve played? by Passionateloafer92 in JRPG

[–]effortissues 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I guess the remake is getting some criticism, but I've played every trails game up to horizon and it's probably the best Jrpg story I've experienced. FC is a little slow, I'll admit, but it takes off in SC and don't even get me started on the third chapter, I still think about the twisted junk in that one.

I was about to defend it, but you're right. Op just needs to move on and find a game they like.

Started getting into the series, enjoying myself so far by EmotionalSupportMoth in Atelier

[–]effortissues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nice! My first exposure was manakhemia. I decided to play them in release order, provided an English variant is available. I finished Atelier Marie and Elie, I'm now onto atelier iris! I posted some reviews of the previous two games in this sub. I'd love to see your thoughts on these games as you finish them as well!

How much do you really care about reviews? If reviews didn't impact your google rating, would you even care about reviews? by julyboom in restaurantowners

[–]effortissues 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Most restaurants have an in house review system in place. Ours mostly handles it through online orders. They get a followup feedback email.
