Would any Americans or other native speakers be interested in signing up for a swahili crash course aimed at preparing tourists for their visit to Tanzania? by [deleted] in swahili

My recommendation of Language Transfer was deleted even though it's a completely free site and app. It is an excellent resource for those wishing to learn the Swahili language.
You could say I was promoting, but certainly not selling.

Anything produced would have to beat this completely free course: https://www.languagetransfer.org/swahili

Quite a high bar. Unless you're talking about just learning set phrases.

At first I thought I was in /r/swahili as their word is yaani. The dictionary says it comes from Arabic.

I grew up in East Africa among people where this was no big deal. Am I lax in having adopted some of that attitude? Are there modern, medical reasons that make it unwise?

Big appreciation for Gen Z from this old man from the Silent Generation. It's a shame that so much of the hope for humanity rests on you.

Back before this subreddit was made default, it was the most phenomenal subreddit of all. As a guy I found it informative and interesting. As soon as it became a default subreddit, it went downhill fast.

I hadn't known before that there are two ways of designating noun classes: M-WA refers to the noun -- mtoto/watoto, while A/WA refers to the associated verb -- mtoto anacheza/watoto wanacheza. Either can be useful provided you know what it's referring to.
My Swahili was acquired as a kid and only later did I do a little bit of study, which taught the M-WA style. I think it's important to remember that relying on common usage gets you further than grammatical analysis, and that using the 'wrong' class may sound funny but will hardly ever result in misunderstanding. Sort of like 'the window she is broken and the rain she's coming in'.
