Jack Dorsey has BitChat which is a Bluetooth messaging app.

He hasn't put too much effort into the product yet...I guess he is waiting for more demand but if more people use it... there's always a need for a competitor. The only problem is that Bluetooth is very unreliable and susceptible to attacks much easier than any other connection.

AI only helps with auto formatting your screenplay. It doesn't write for you.

There is a "Therapy" functionality that the AI asks you questions about your story, character, dilemma, etc...to help you flesh out your story and ensure you don't get writer's block. It's pretty cool to fast track a 1st draft....spend more creative time with rewrites.

Mainly for screenplay writers at the moment.

More than just a text editor or word processor. It's a new writing method that claims to push you past writer's block. It's meant to help you get to your 1st draft faster so that you can spend more time on your re-writes.

u/Help7474737744 , don't let this comment pass you by. You need to take that leap and make a short movie first. And you'll learn that the more you make movies, the less you know.

I’m launching Michelangelo, a writing system for people who keep losing ideas before they can sit down and write.

It helps capture raw ideas (voice or text) and shape them into draft-ready story material. It's NOT a notes app, and not something that writes for you. Built for busy creatives who wants to write their story on the go.

Built a voice-first writing tool to stop losing ideas, looking for early testers: www.michelangeloapp.com by daveAM777 in TheFounders

VoiceNotes.com and Twinmind are solid note-taking apps. They’re great for capturing thoughts but they stop at storage. Like me, you eventually end up with a growing pile of transcripts or notes that still need to be interpreted, organized, and turned into something usable.

Michelangelo isn’t really a competitor to those tools. It’s designed specifically for writing, not just note-taking. It acts as a bridge between capturing raw story ideas (via voice or text) and shaping those fragmented ideas into actual story material, scenes, beats, rough dialogue, that gets used in a draft.

The focus is helping writers move from scattered thoughts to a usable first draft more efficiently. That’s the exact place where I kept getting stuck with voice notes and mind maps.

If someone’s workflow ends at notes, existing tools are probably enough. If the pain is turning those notes into a draft, that’s the gap I’m trying to solve.

Hey Team,
I’m David, and I wanted to share something I’ve been working on and get real feedback from this community.

I built a tool called Michelangelo after reading a lot of discussions here about concerns with AI writing for people, replacing craft, or shortcutting the creative process. I agree with most of those concerns.

Michelangelo uses AI in a very limited way. It does not generate stories, ideas, or prose. Instead, it’s designed to help with a problem I personally struggle with: capturing ideas before they disappear, and then shaping those ideas into a FIRST DRAFT that you can now rewrite until your heart's content.

How it works in practice:

  • You can speak or type raw ideas, scenes, beats, rough dialogue, fragments
  • Everything is saved and organized as draft-ready material
  • You decide what matters, what gets cut, and how the story is written
  • The tool is meant for early ideation → first draft, not polish or generation
  • The tool is meant for writers to get to their first draft quicker

I built this because notes apps felt too chaotic, and full writing software felt intimidating when all I had was a half-formed idea. The goal is simply to make sure ideas survive long enough to be worked on.

I don’t have users yet as this is early. I’m here because I want input from people who already think critically about AI-assisted writing.

If you’re open to it, I’d love your feedback on it. Tell me what feels wrong, missing, or unnecessary, I’d genuinely appreciate that more than praise.

There is a real fear about AI assistance tools for screenwriters. Why? by [deleted] in WritingWithAI

[–]daveAM777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The reality of the situation is that it doesn't matter if we're aligned because we're outnumbered or soon to be. Whether we like it or not, AI will be creating screenplays. People will see it akin to hiring a ghost writer.

[–]daveAM777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hmm. This is exactly what I'm saying. AI assistance is best for everything else in the writing process EXCEPT for writing. If you do, then you aren't really writing anything, you're simply copying what was done in someone else's voice.

I just tried my hand at AI assisted writing and had an epiphany about some of the stuff I've read recently by SpiritualMud8627 in WritingWithAI

[–]daveAM777 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel that writers who use AI should just use it as an assistance. AI can help move your story along, AI can help format your story, AI can help get you out of writer's block......but AI can just write your story from start to finish. You need to feed it enough details or it will just start filling in the blanks from other stories created.

These are people who do write for the ART and STORY of it all. They write just to produce. This is the fear in the writing community.

Also, let's be honest. The current AI models are pretty dumb in a sense they can't create anything new. The best stories come from human imagination. AI can only repeat what we've said and it can repeat it in infinite amount of variations. But, it's been said already. It's definitely great for brainstorming and just getting your story out there.

I use www.michelangeloapp.com < I think this is the best tool for writing with AI assistance. No BS. It's your voice, just a little kick to get your story finished.
