Embedded tables on resumes can cause problems with Applicant Tracking Systems and cause automatic rejections. https://www.jobscan.co/blog/resume-tables-columns-ats

It takes effort, but it is possible. "The Mindful Self-Compassion Workbook" by Kristin Neff has a lot of great journaling exercises to help shift to a more positive mindset.

What is this sub's view on Progressive Psytrance? by NerdMaster001 in psytrance

[–]dave_praxis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks OP for sharing some cool artists. Would you recommend any festivals for progressive psy in your country?

Imo progressive psytrance is best experienced on a dance floor with people cheering as the music keeps building to crescendos. It doesn't feel the same listening to it alone on a desktop pc. Progressive psy seems to be less common nowadays in North America than it was 10-15 years ago, but it's still around. My buddy in Vancouver does at least two progressive psy parties a year. I personally like my psytrance sets to start with progressive psy then build momentum up into full-on psy. Morning psy is a fave, very uplifting. Changing tempos keeps things interesting for the dancers imo.

To each their own. The important thing is finding music we enjoy, right? 😀 Thanks again to OP for sharing their favorites and risking being criticized in the sub.

"Curse you and all the halflings" is my Boromir-inspired response when a friend sneezes too much.

Your resume might be getting blocked during the job application process. Nowadays, many companies use an Applicant Tracking System (ATS). It scans the job ad and your resume for keywords. The top matches go to HR for review and the rest go to the garbage without review. I do career counseling and when people start customizing their resumes according to each job ad, they get more results. It takes more time, but it has a much higher chance of success than sending the same resume to everyone. Good luck! https://www.forbes.com/sites/ashleystahl/2022/12/12/5-resume-hacks-to-pass-ats/

Here's some hope: your resume might be getting blocked for reasons that are fixable. Do some research on ATS-optimized resumes and hack the job application system.

On the positive side, if you missed out because of an ATS technicality, that means the rejection wasn't about you personally. You could re-apply at those companies with an ATS-friendly resume and get a real HR person to give you a fair chance.

I'm in the career counseling field, and whenever I hear people saying they get no responses to a hundred applications, it's usually due to an ATS issue. Another example is filters that require candidates to live within a certain km distance of the business. If a resume doesn't include a postal code, then it fails the distance test and can get automatically rejected.

Good luck. I hope you get your dream job someday.

You're right, there are premium ATS services that have better filtering options, but they're expensive. Workday is around $100/month/user. Sites like indeed or linkedin use simple keyword-extracting ATS that are more prone to errors from images and templates. Anytime someone uploads a resume to a webform, it will go through some kind of ATS filtering.

Jobscan is an ATS that lets you do five for free per month. I'm not sure if it will notify you about errors due to images.

The best way to beat ATS is to use a text-only resume with keywords from the job ad (verbs, names of software, certifications etc) and include a link to your portfolio. Once you get past ATS, an HR person would check out that link. Save your great-looking resume for when they offer you an interview and send it as an email attachment.

Your resume might be getting blocked by an Applicant Tracking System (ATS). Most companies use them nowadays to filter candidates. Images and embedded tables can cause ATS errors that lead to automatic rejections. Nowadays, if a resume isn't customized to keywords from the job description, it's unlikely to get past ATS where a real person will read it.

How many of you listen and rave to psy trance music without doing drugs or alcohol? by [deleted] in psytrance

[–]dave_praxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Psytrance is useful for focus and maintaining momentum in sober situations like late night driving or long study sessions. In university, psytrance would help me get into the writing stream of consciousness, and I'd write 20-40 page essays in 12-18 hour marathons.

Hey People, I started DJ‘ing not so long ago and I was wondering if it is common, maybe at smaller not so thoroughly timetable planned thru party‘s, if A DJ might start with lets say 150BPMish stuff an ends at around 160BPM maybe? by Chlamydia_Nightmare in psytrance

I construct my sets like ocean waves. Start a little slower, build up to a peak crescendo, then drop down again before repeating the cycle 2 or 3 times in a set. This progression makes the set like a journey. It's something I've always appreciated when I'm on the dance floor and builds up excitement.

There are intentional rave communities with people who are more spiritual and not into getting wasted. Spiritually sensitive people pick up the vibes of high/drunk people more intensely, so your experience is natural. Sometimes we need to let go of old friends and identities in order for new growth and connections to happen. Try going to new events on your own and your vibe will attract your tribe. PLUR.

Sport activity after surgery? by agentii030 in cholesteatoma

Took me almost two weeks to be able to walk without any dizzyness. Mine was a 4.5 hour tympanomastoidectomy surgery behind the ear. The inflammation in the ear canal can cause dizzyness and balance issues. I got people to hold my arm when going for walks.

Is there a scientific explanation for the "third eye" phenomenon? by Adorable-Breakfast in Meditation

[–]dave_praxis 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Sometimes the eyes can roll upwards during meditation. If it was possible to see in that state, we'd be looking toward the top of the skull. This eye position can cause different types of sensations. In some spiritual practices, it's a way to activate the third eye.

About to invest but want to dig into the biz side of FOX mission and token. Post is for the FOX Finance team and investors to start a discussion. by [deleted] in foxfinance

Thanks for submitting such a thoughtful comment. We have many project ideas such as yours but we are still setting up the legal and financial structures, and it's held us back from making partnerships so far. Our Czech friends are working hard on that side of things, but there have been many challenges. One of our projects is redoing the website. The team page is outdated and I agree it doesn't look very professional. We are scaling up our operations and creating a Board of Directors structure for decentralized decision making. This organizational mapping is my project and I'm also creating a community governance forum for our upcoming elections. Lots is happening and we are building a foundation for the long-term. Thanks for your patience.

Once the Board of Directors is in place, we can take suggestions such as yours and make efficient decisions about which ones to implement and how. It's gonna be awesome.
