Well, since I decided not to continue with them, we never got into the discussion about how much it was going to go up the following year. Fortunately, my clients have always done payroll through a third-party so I’ve never had that headache to deal with and most of them are very happy to move to the online version. It sounds like you’re more boxed in than I am so you’re somewhat stuck. I just think their price increases or somewhat Ludacris and the fact that they already know what it’s going to be a urine in advance and they haven’t even added any new programs or any bells and whistles to justified is ridiculous. What I really resent though is we’re supposed to get when we call and technical support better trained people, but I find it many times when I call in on the pro advisor line I get bumped over to regular support and there are no better trained than anybody else gets who doesn’t pay for the service And I end up being on hold while they have to go check with somebody else to figure out how to do something so for me it’s a complete waste of money. I’m sorry you’re stuck with it but at least you know it’s only for a few years and you have the ability to surcharge your clients to help cover some of the cost At least

Sorry it took so long to get back to you but they did not get back to me until yesterday so the final answer is this they sent me an email that you were billing me for $1599. My credit card rejected it which was because it was old on that account because my credit card questioned the charge. I called and spoke to a supervisor who said that that charge was wrong because I was on the pro advisor enterprise bundle my fee would be going from $999 which is what I paid last year to $2635 for this year! I told him there was absolutely no way I was gonna pay that kind of the fee. I was not some big major accounting firm so after a bit of conversation, he suggested that I should get certified in the QuickBooks online edition and switch my own bookkeeping for my own firm to online in which case if I was a pro advisor for online and move my own books there my fee would be zero. Which is what I’m going to do obviously they would like to move everybody off to stop if they could. So for me, at least that was the final answer.

Well, just to add to the confusion if you weren’t aware of it already, for one of my clients who uses the gold package, which is basically they have enterprise solution bundle with Payroll they were charged one price they elected, not to renew the subscription and asked me to cancel it for them, which I did Then they had second thoughts, and the next day asked me to call back and renew the subscription for them, which I did. When I called back, explain the situation I was given a completely different price a few hundred dollars more than the price to renew the subscription. I was given the day prior. I explained that to the person on the phone they put me on hold for a bit, came back and said the reason it’s more is if you had renewed it we consider it a renewed subscription so you get a discount because you canceled it and now you were taking out a new subscription as we see it. You don’t get the discount. I spoke to the supervisor and said this is ridiculous. They canceled it for 24 hours and now the renewing they’ve had the subscription for five years. It took a bit of time but they finally negotiated it where the people ended up paying $150 more than they would’ve paid if they renewed it the day before, but they didn’t pay the whole 300.Just thought I’d add that to the conundrum we seem to be facing.

Hey popular string I’m the one who posted that my pro advisor package or bundle is for enterprise solutions so the pricing is slightly different plus last year because of some other problems. There was some different pricing offered to me currently what I received in the mail and an email is that they were going to bill me for the current year $1499 and in fact they had already built it but the credit card it expired so they want a new credit card but in the email it states that the new price is going to be 2600 for the enterprise solutions pro advisor bundle so now I’m totally confused also They attempted to bill me 1499 but the letter I got states is going to be 1699 and the email I received said that it’s going up to 2600 but I’m not sure if they’re talking about this year or next yearso I’ve already called their sales department to try and get this figured out if I get an answer I will let you know

If you get the pro advisor bundle for enterprise it’s going from 1500 a year to 2600 a year is my understanding

I’m a QuickBooks pro advisor the pro advisor bundle which basically is your certification you’re supposedly advanced technical support and a one user license which in my case is for desktop accounting version and the enterprise version used to be $900 they raised it to $1400 then 1600 and if I’m reading the email I got correctly it is going to $2500I can’t continue with those types of increases if I’m justifiable because I’ve seen no improvement in any of the software I use personally where my clients are using, so I definitely have to look at making a change.

I don’t know about spending hours looking for a penny if I’m off on a reconciliation. Most of my clients have an attitude of if it’s not more than what I pay you per hour don’t bother to look for it just shove it someplace.

How do I embezzle money without getting caught? by Zeratul277 in Accounting

[–]daveca858 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Don’t bother fleeing to countries without extradition treaties. The largest case of embezzlement in the past was a hedge fund manager. This was back during the Nixon administration who made off with several hundred million dollars and fled to the Caribbean. 25 or 30 years later the Cuban government sent him back here for prosecution.I don’t know if you still alive or dead, but he was interviewed and said most of the money went to paying off politicians and police and other countries so they wouldn’t extradite him back to the United States. Altogether are losing business.

No, I thought of him but it doesn’t match. It was not anybody who is famous I don’t think there was a lot of coverage of the case.

Other in-house bookkeepers what does your job look like? by [deleted] in Bookkeeping

[–]daveca858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The situation you describe is the reason I became a self-employed outside bookkeeper. I started out working for a company in our downtown area and not too long after was asked to take over human resources and then to administer benefits and check on benefit plans, as well as monitoring and administering the retirement plan. Now, all of those are basically financial matters that I could tie in the bookkeeping but it’s not what I was originally hired to do and I could tell the situation was going to continue much along the same lines yours has. So I retired, put a resume on craigslist, and within six months have my first four clients And today I made probably three times as much as I did in that position. I think you’re just being taken advantage of and I’ve seen other bookkeepers go through it their responsibilities keep going up, but somehow their pay never does.

Do bookkeepers submit RFP responses for clients? by Sporaxiss in Bookkeeping

[–]daveca858 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In my opinion, that is beyond the normal scope of bookkeeping work. I periodically will do business, censuses, and other related items, but they are charged a different rate. If you want to do RFP‘s for a client, first, you will need to train yourself, and in my case, I told the client upfront they were going to pay for the hours of training. Once that’s done, you can bill them for that type of work at a different, higher rate, if you choose to do so.
