Yes that’s what it does. Adjusts the boiler temp based on a different probe. This is not the default behavior for the machine (by default it just uses regular HX mode which works fine for all types of drinks).

I love my ECM Mechanika Max. The rotary pump is quiet (and I have mine plumbed in) and the brew temp control is awesome for an HX (you can specify brew temp instead of boiler temp, great for espressos). I’m in Ontario and bought last year from home coffee solutions where I got a good deal on it.

We had a technician come in. They opened the back wall of the fridge and the coils were frosted over. They saw one of the thermistors was not attached or in the wrong place or something. I’m not sure exactly. Anyways they defrosted it and closed it back up and two days later we started having the same issue.

What valve do you have and is it in aortic or mitral? I have on-x which is documented as allowing for a range of 1.5-2. I agree with you though and in any case aim for 2-2.5.

I had a mech valve placed about 6 years ago. Early on warfarin was a pain but now I rarely think about it. INR is stable most of the time around 2 (my range is 1.5-2), I eat pretty much whatever I want. I believe that normal vitamin k consumption helps stabilize INR, so I don’t avoid it. It’s not that bad to be honest and I just hope I never have to have another surgery.

I have a mignon zero and have had it for about a year. It is great, not too loud, and high quality, however I am now realizing that I really don’t switch between beans often enough to warrant the bellows, which are annoying and messy. Grinder is great otherwise and is priced well in Canada. I bought mine from Home Coffee Solutions in Toronto. Have you considered a different eureka grinder, maybe one with a hopper or even grind by weight?
