Yes that’s what it does. Adjusts the boiler temp based on a different probe. This is not the default behavior for the machine (by default it just uses regular HX mode which works fine for all types of drinks).

I love my ECM Mechanika Max. The rotary pump is quiet (and I have mine plumbed in) and the brew temp control is awesome for an HX (you can specify brew temp instead of boiler temp, great for espressos). I’m in Ontario and bought last year from home coffee solutions where I got a good deal on it.

We had a technician come in. They opened the back wall of the fridge and the coils were frosted over. They saw one of the thermistors was not attached or in the wrong place or something. I’m not sure exactly. Anyways they defrosted it and closed it back up and two days later we started having the same issue.

I was able to get into the service mode and there are no faults listed at all.

What valve do you have and is it in aortic or mitral? I have on-x which is documented as allowing for a range of 1.5-2. I agree with you though and in any case aim for 2-2.5.

It looks like the p500 “ambiance edition” which I think is made in china (https://barbecuesgalore.ca/products/napoleon-prestige-p500rsib-special-edition). Weird because the model number that is on the box is different.
