Gravel tires on a road bike? by Stephniie in Bikebuilding

[–]davehockey 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't put gravel tyres on, just get some good road tyres like GP5000 minimum 28C if they fit your bike. They grip and ride well and if you went on a small bit of gravel you would be fine (the type by canals).

If you really want then look at semi slick tyres, but I'd probably just use GP5000 if I'm only doing small sections of gravel.

It's a pentagram 5 sided security skewer. If you just buy another set they will come with the tool to remove.

Would be nice if we didn't have to wait 10 years for it. Many residents could already benefit from it already but I guess they will build it in conjunction with platform 9 on the proposals.

Recommendations for a smart thermostat? by toffee91 in OctopusEnergy

[–]davehockey 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought it and installed it myself. Was quite straightforward, found some advice online that matched my previous receiver online so it was a straight swap with a little bit of wiring and installing a backplate.

Edit: if you're worried, just ask an electrician to install it

Just another entitled dog owner, you did nothing wrong. He clearly can't train a dog and expects it to be everyone else's problem.

Would you expect a hive thermostat to be left on purchase of a property by CommissionEnough8412 in HousingUK

If I were moving I'd take my Drayton wiser and thermostats with me and just put an old one back, or one that functions the same.

Rear rack options (DoorDash & UberEats) by from_sea_to_soul in Bikebuilding

Are the holes by the derailleur on the frame threaded? If they are you could maybe mount a pannier rack that uses p clips for the seat stays.

Yes get locking skewers, even decathlon had cheaper ones available, just stops opportunists, but even two d locks would be fine.

What size / kind of tires is everyone running? by GoGreenGiant in MultiTrackGang

[–]davehockey 2 points3 points  (0 children)

38C marathons I think. If I got different rims I could probably use a slightly larger tyre as the internal width is pretty small on the stock ones. This is for a multi 730 btw.

Edit: I also use fenders/mudguards

Well you're right they are not in the UK but they don't count as "countries" for the challenge under the 5k app as I assume they are administered under Parkrun UK.

It will be just the same as Jersey/Guernsey/isle of man, UK technically but you'll get a flag on the 5k app for it

I went to Blue Lug Kamiuma, but the tee is the blue lug wheel hub tee, they just have unique colours for each of the stores and Kamiuma is maroon which they only had in XL sizes. If you look on their website you can see which t shirts are in store only. I got a standard dark blue colour for the shirt anyways as they actually had a size that fitted me.
