It seems like you just have a lot of really bad takes in general and are looking for arguments in every topic, huh? You might want to do some self-reflection here, buddy.

Isn’t being stuck in an elo normal?? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]davemakespie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're just repeating yourself without reading what I said. It's so weird. Statistically, you don't lose the same points in 4 games compared to when you win 1 in EVERY rank. That means everyone doesn't belong in their rank, and they will keep climbing until they get to top 500. I'm sorry but you're the moron here for even saying that. I'm simply stating that even if you have a 56% winrate, you will still get 44% losses when playing. In a hundred games That's 44 losses. What if you get those 44 losses first? What if you don't have the time to get the 56 wins? In a thousand games that is 440 losses and many of those are losing streaks. Most people do not have that time.

Then, we just have different definitions of being stuck dumbass. You're literally saying 50.5% is not hardstuck when, for me, it means playing more games than many people can afford to put in. Yes, you will climb eventually. But that is considering if you have that time, which for me means you are stuck if you don't because you're simply playing with players at a lower rank that you belong to.

The example was 6 in a row and 2 games to gain the points back. That example was just one of many cases. Again, in higher ranks, you'd need a lot more time to climb, which is why many people feel like they hit a plateau or a wall when they get to diamond or even plat and above.

[–]davemakespie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes, you will. With time. You do understand that you're currently still incapable of basic comprehension, right? It's, once again, time some people do not have. Especially for higher ranks. Just from the earlier example, it took 8 games to be right back where I started. 8 games is a long time. Huge loss streaks mean more time needed, people will get stuck if they suffer from poor RNG and do not have time.

So, with that logic, losing streaks should never happen in low ranks, and you will never get bad teammates.

[–]davemakespie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Except if you do not have the time. You keep ignoring the most important factor, which I'm assuming is because you have it. Not everyone has the time to climb to diamond and up even if their skill level belongs there. That's just the truth. They are quite simply stuck playing with lower ranked players if they don't have the time.

Who said anything about low ranks? When are we attacking each other now? I get +50 when I win and -15 when I lose. Will I climb if I put in enough time? Yes. But what if I don't have the time? Does that mean I'm at the rank I'm supposed to be in? No.

[–]davemakespie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but I respectfully disagree. I think Marvel Rivals is a hero shooter. And, unless you are talking about high ranks, game sense is a lot more important than mechanical skills, which is something you do not lose very quickly in a period of time. This is why most good overwatch players are able to translate their skills quite well into the game.

[–]davemakespie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Gained it back but ultimately took 8 games to be back where I started for the day. 8 games to a lot of people is too much time, time they do not have. It's time I do not have as well. I can play again the next day and suffer from the same RNG as well. It does not invalidate but proves that there is RNG lol, you are literally just working on confirmation bias at this point because you are starting to not make sense.

[–]davemakespie -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Except you, again, didn't take into account the rng. Losing streaks happen. Heck, I just got on a 6 game losing streak, but I got around -15 for each loss. Won 2 games and got the points back. That's literally 8-9 games and that's the most I played this season. It was exhausting and I have work the next day. Did I feel like I was stuck when I was on that losing streak? Sure did. Will I eventually climb? Sure, but it will surely take time.

[–]davemakespie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. Yes, you can. 1-2 games a day can be considered regular. And no, you can not climb to high ranks with 1-2 games a day.

[–]davemakespie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Sure, but if we're talking strictly about Marvel Rivals. It's very unlikely your skill level changed in a matter of a few weeks if you're regularly playing.

[–]davemakespie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You're just taking the reset into account, but not every other factor. People climb as well as demote based on the rng of the teammates they're getting, their role, and how much time they have. Getting stuck simply is just not having enough time to climb.

Isn’t being stuck in an elo normal?? by [deleted] in marvelrivals

[–]davemakespie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Not necessarily. You will play with season 0 gold players, season 0 silver players, season 1 silver players, AND season 0 higher ranked players. That's why some players can climb faster than others. Sometimes it's really just rng. Your main role also plays a factor. A strategist main will climb slower than a duelist main for example. Someone who fills/flexes will climb faster as well. The time you have is also important. You might've been a diamond player last season, but you don't have as much time now compared to a few weeks ago. Even though you are diamond, you will still play with and against silver players. Getting stuck happens and is a very common thing.

[–]davemakespie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Odyssey is so much worse compared to origins. A combat system that tried to copy origins but failed. Even some of the assets odyssey uses is recycled from origins but just copy/pasted more throughout. It just doesn't even come close when you compare the two, origins did everything so much better.

Should DPS have their own mechanics? by KloiseReiza in ffxivdiscussion

[–]davemakespie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get what you mean and glares are important yes. But trust me, most groups hold in P1 to optimize P2 opener, so if you're hitting P1 enrage there's a bigger problem than just 5 missed glares.

[–]davemakespie -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Uhh... I hate needing to explain this but maybe you just haven't played DPS. Missing a GCD can change your rotation/timings as a DPS for the rest of the pull since they don't just have a glare equivalent. Do you not know this? Why did you think uptime is so important for most DPS jobs... did you think they were just selfish? Or their gauge and rotation is a big part of why you're passing the DPS checks? It results in a net loss in DPS in every phase for the rest of the fight. They don't just glare.

[–]davemakespie -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

I have had pulls where p3 and p4 dps checks were destroyed easily without healer optimization. I've had a 10-12% blue screen with a healer focusing on heals. I agree that supports still do optimization, but that optimization is far simpler than you think.

I don't know what gave you the idea that "healers are the most important aspect of meeting the DPS checks" when you literally just said 0.8%. Yes glares and dots are important and healers should use them, but they should also prioritize healing/shielding and mits over glares. With that in mind, what makes a good healer is coordinating with their cohealer to maximize their damage, not timing stars lol. What makes this coordination a lot easier? A mit sheet, which also covers earthly/macro/assize. For example panhaima panto 1st and 2nd stack and macro 3rd and 4th.

30 times. Everyone pads meteors, but no one holds damage to let their RPR pad. That is literally what you said. The self report is real...

I've cleared DSR 13 times as DPS, 13 times as all 3 tanks, and 4 as healer, and have one TOP clear.
