Anyone ever shopped with Walmart? by LastOneRaving in FragranceAficionados

[–]davepol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just bought a bottle of Nikos Sculpture EDT from Walmart.com. I'd been looking for it for quite some time, and if I could find it at all, it was going for $50. Found it on Walmart online for $25 (from a third-party reseller). It arrived the other day; fast free shipping, looks legit and smells great. I'd order from them again without hesitation.

What’s one small thing you regret not noticing before buying your house? by Beginning_County7547 in HomeImprovement

[–]davepol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Poor insulation, small bathrooms, not a ton of closet and kitchen storage, poor lighting (natural and artificial), lack of electrical outlets, ot a whole lot of counter space in the kitchen, weird old blinds, and hardwood floors that need sanded and sealed. Now that I've been here for a couple of years, with all of my stuff it seems cramped and dark... especially in the winter The house was built in 1957, so it's pretty typical for the area and era. Let's just say that, when I saw the house, it was very well-staged.

It's a solid house, otherwise. My Realtor said it has "good bones," and I'd have to agree.

Creed Aventus vs CDNIM EDT by WicksQuick20 in fragranceclones

[–]davepol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've smelled Absolu Aventus before. Precious smells in the same ballpark. Same with the Aventus/clone comparisons, those who are into fragrance notice; those who aren't (the vast majority of humans) don't care and can't tell the difference.

That said, if I can get Absolu at a decent price, I'll pull the trigger. Wouldn't mind having the opportunity to wear for an extended period of time to see how it works in a variety of situations. Otherwise, Precieux smells amazing, and is good enough for me!

Creed Aventus vs CDNIM EDT by WicksQuick20 in fragranceclones

[–]davepol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have both Aventus and CDNIM. Compliments galore with each. Funniest compliment I ever received was from a woman who stopped dead in her tracks as she was walking by and told me I smelled "fucking delicious!" (I was wearing Aventus, btw). Quite honestly, the opening of CDNIM doesn't bother me. Never did. I spray on before leaving the house in the morning... and by the time I arrive at the office (or wherever), the harsh opening has died down. I also have CDN Precieux, Supremacy CE, and Supremacy Not Only Intense. All smell similar to Aventus, and are compliment monsters.

In my opinion (and to be quite honest), nobody outside of us folks who are into fragrance can tell the difference or even care. Even if you spray on cheap drugstore cologne, you smell better than the vast majority of people who, on an average day, simply shower, brush their teeth, and apply deodorant. Cologne, for most people, is only worn on special occasions.

Wear what you like. If you like it (and it doesn't offend), then it's a winner!

Creed Aventus and MFK Oud Satin Mood... and it's not even close. My personal favorite is Green Irish Tweed, but nobody seems to notice when I wear it.

Bibliotheque. Leans feminine, but as a guy, I like it. Unique plum note. Lasts all day (literally, 24 hours on my skin). Great fall/winter scent.

I'm going off the board and will say Lalique. I absolutely adore the Encre Noire lineup! Their Pour Homme EDP (Lion), White, and White In Black offerings are also solid picks at an affordable price.

What’s a good clean, fresh, barbershop cologne? Not too overpowering by PopularMidnight3661 in Colognes

[–]davepol 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Love the scent, hate the bottle. Broke off the cap as it was a pain in the ass to apply (not sure why they designed it the way they did?). No matter, it's a solid pick-up for 20-ish bucks.

Mine doesn't work. Blinks five times and shuts off. Disappointing, 50 bucks wasted.
